Scrape Walmart search results into structured data: product names, current prices and sale prices, star ratings, review counts, sellers, stock status, and sponsored flags.
What does Walmart Product Scraper do?
Walmart Product Scraper searches Walmart.com the way a shopper would and returns every product in the search results as a clean row. Walmart's extra carousels, such as "Highly rated by customers" or the "Other options to consider" it shows when nothing matches, are left out. Each row has the name, the price, the previous price when the item is marked down, the rating and how many reviews it is based on, who sells it, whether it is in stock, and a link to the product page.
Sponsored placements are flagged, so you can keep them or drop them.
Running it on Apify gives you API access, scheduling, integrations (Google Sheets, Slack, Zapier, S3), residential proxy rotation, and run monitoring, with no Walmart account or API key.
Why use Walmart Product Scraper?
- Price monitoring: track competitor pricing across a catalogue on a schedule.
- Discount tracking: catch rollbacks and markdowns through
was_price. - Retail and reselling research: find what sells, at what price, and how well it is reviewed.
- Assortment analysis: see how a category is priced and who the sellers are.
- Ad intelligence: see which products pay for placement on which searches.
How to scrape Walmart products
- Enter one or more Search terms, one per line, such as
laptoporpaper towels. - Set Max results per term.
- Optionally pick a sort order, add price filters, or exclude sponsored or out-of-stock products.
- Click Start. Results appear in the Output tab as they are scraped.
Input
Set these on the Input tab, or pass them as JSON through the API.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
search_terms | What to search for, one per line. Required. |
max_results_per_term | Cap on products for each term (default 100). |
sort_by | Best match, price low to high or high to low, best seller, top rated, or new arrivals. If Walmart will not serve a sort order for your search (it sometimes refuses "Price: low to high" together with a price range), the Actor uses Walmart's default order and says so in the run's status message. |
price_min / price_max | Price range in whole US dollars. |
exclude_sponsored | Drop paid placements and keep only organic results. |
in_stock_only | Skip products that are out of stock. |
proxy_country | Comma-separated 2-letter proxy countries (default US). US works best. |

Data fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
product_id | Walmart's item number. |
name | Product title. |
url | Product page link, without tracking parameters. |
image | Thumbnail image link. |
price | Current price as a number. Empty when Walmart hides the price in search results ("see price in cart" items). |
currency | Always USD. |
rating, review_count | Star rating and how many reviews it is based on. Empty for products with no reviews yet. |
seller | Who sells it: Walmart.com or a marketplace seller. |
in_stock | true or false. |
is_sponsored | Whether this row is a paid placement rather than an organic result. A product Walmart shows both as an ad and as an organic result gets one row for each. |
product_type | Walmart's category for the item, such as "Laptop Computers". |
short_description | Walmart's short listing description, on most products. |
search_term | Which of your terms produced this row. |
These two fields are filled only when Walmart shows them, and are empty otherwise:
| Field | When it is filled |
|---|---|
was_price | The item is marked down and Walmart shows a struck-through previous price higher than price. |
unit_price | Walmart shows a price per unit, such as "$2.30/100 ct". This is common for groceries and household goods, and rare for electronics. |
How much does it cost to scrape Walmart?
The Actor is billed per result: $0.002 per product plus a $0.00005 start fee per run. That is about $2 per 1,000 products. Proxy and compute costs are included. Apify's free plan includes $5 of monthly credit, which covers about 2,500 products.
A search page holds about 40 to 70 products. The Actor pauses between pages to stay within what Walmart tolerates, so 100 products for one term usually take under a minute.
Tips
- Compare
pricewithwas_priceto find genuine markdowns. - Exclude sponsored results when measuring organic ranking, because ads change the order.
- Sort by price to find the cheap end of a category quickly.
- Schedule the same terms daily and the dataset becomes a price history.
- Keep
max_results_per_termsmall for quick checks; you pay only for the products you get.
FAQ, disclaimers, and support
Does it need a Walmart account or API key? No. It reads publicly visible search results.
What happens when a search returns nothing? No row is added, so you are not billed for it. The term and the reason are listed in the FAILED_INPUTS record in the run's key-value store, and the run's status message gives the counts. The run fails only if Walmart blocked every term.
Why did a run stop early? Walmart challenges repeated requests from the same address. The Actor retries on fresh residential addresses with different browser profiles. If a page still comes back without product data, the Actor says so instead of pretending there were no results: a term blocked before any product was saved is listed in FAILED_INPUTS, and a term blocked on a later page keeps the products already saved and is counted as "stopped early" in the status message.
Why do results include sponsored products? Because Walmart's own search does. They are flagged with is_sponsored, and you can exclude them.
Why does the same product appear twice? Walmart often shows a product as an ad and again as an organic result on the same search. Each placement gets its own row, told apart by is_sponsored. Turn on Exclude sponsored results and every product appears once.
Is it legal to scrape Walmart? This Actor collects publicly available product data and no personal information. Walmart's terms of use restrict automated access, so you are responsible for how you use the data and for complying with those terms and the laws that apply to you. Consult a lawyer if you are unsure.
