📱 App Review Insights — Google Play & App Store
Turn your app's reviews into a product-intelligence report in about a minute. Point it at a Google Play package id and/or an App Store app id — get back what users praise, what drives bad ratings, and what to fix first.
No API keys. No setup. Live data, every run.
What you get
Every run produces three outputs:
report.md— a shareable report: rating stats, sentiment split, per-store breakdown, praised themes, complaint drivers, and verbatim complaint quotes- Structured JSON (dataset) — the same analysis as machine-readable data for your own dashboards or pipelines
reviews.json— the underlying reviews themselves (store, rating, text, date, author, app version)
Sample output
App Review Insights — com.example.app 340 reviews analyzed · average rating 3.1 48% positive · 41% negative google-play: 210 reviews, avg 3.3 · app-store: 130 reviews, avg 2.8
What users praise: clean interface · fast sync · responsive support What drives bad ratings: crashes on launch · battery drain · broken notifications
Why this one
- Both stores, one report — most review tools cover a single platform or hand you raw rows; this reads both and gives you the analysis, not just the data
- Per-store breakdown — see whether a problem is platform-specific (a bad Android release vs. an iOS-only bug) or universal
- Honest limits — Apple's public feed exposes ~500 recent reviews per country (documented, not hidden); Google Play goes much deeper
- Fail-soft — one store failing doesn't kill the other's results
Input
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Google Play app | Package id (com.whatsapp) or store URL — optional |
| App Store app | Numeric id (310633997) or store URL — optional |
| Max reviews per store | Default 300 |
| Country | 2-letter code, affects both stores |
| Sort | Google Play: newest / rating / helpfulness (Apple feed is always most-recent) |
| Demo mode | Run on bundled sample data instead of live reviews |
At least one of the two app fields is required.

FAQ
Where does the data come from? Google Play's public store and Apple's official public customer-reviews feed.
Monitoring on a schedule? Attach to an Apify Schedule (e.g. weekly, after a release) for a rolling read on how a new version is landing.
Something broken? Issues tab is monitored daily; fixes usually ship within 24 hours.
