The Muse Jobs API turns The Muse jobs search into a clean, structured dataset. Pick a category, level and location and get back matching listings - job title, company, location, category, experience level, posting date, full description and a direct apply link - ready to export as JSON, CSV or Excel.
Bring your own The Muse API key (free for developers) and pay only for the results you keep.
Why use this actor?
- Curated employer listings - jobs posted by companies that publish on The Muse, across engineering, sales, marketing, finance, healthcare and more.
- Structured output - title, company, location, category, experience level, job type, posting date, full description and apply link, parsed into flat columns.
- Precise filters - job category, seniority level, location and company, sorted newest first.
- Pay per result - you are charged only for the jobs actually returned.
- No proxies, no blocks - data comes through a stable API, so runs are fast and reliable.
Use cases
- Job boards and aggregators - keep listings fresh with real The Muse results.
- Recruiting and sourcing - see which companies are hiring for which roles and levels.
- Talent market research - track demand by category, level and location.
- Lead generation - a company that is hiring is a company that is buying.
- Job alert automations - schedule daily runs and push new matches to Slack, email or your ATS.
Input

{"category": "Engineering","level": "Senior Level","location": "New York, NY","descending": true,"maxResults": 100,"apiKey": "YOUR_API_KEY"}
Output
One clean JSON object per job:
{"job_title": "Senior Software Engineer","company_name": "Acme Corp","location": "New York, NY","category": "Engineering","level": "Senior Level","job_type": "external","posted_at": "2026-07-22T10:15:00Z","apply_link": "https://www.themuse.com/jobs/acmecorp/senior-software-engineer","description": "<p>We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer...</p>","job_id": 12345678,"company_id": 98765}
Do I need an API key?
Yes. This actor calls The Muse jobs API on your behalf, which requires your own API key. Register for a free developer key at themuse.com/developers, paste it into the API key field, and run. Your key is stored securely and never logged.
Pay per result
You pay only for the job listings the actor actually returns - no subscriptions, no minimums. Set Maximum results to cap each run's spend exactly.
FAQ
What is The Muse Jobs API?
The Muse Jobs API is the official developer interface to The Muse, a career platform where companies post jobs alongside profiles and culture content. It returns live job listings as structured data - title, company, location, category, level, posting date, description and apply link - so you can pull the same jobs shown on The Muse without scraping the website.
Where does the data come from?
Directly from The Muse job listings, posted by employers on the platform. The actor queries the official public jobs endpoint and hands you parsed fields for every matching listing.
What filters can I use?
Job category (Engineering, Sales, Marketing & PR, Data Science, Finance, Healthcare and more), experience level (Entry, Mid, Senior, Management, Internship), location and company. Results can be sorted newest first.
How many results can I get per run?
As many as your search matches, collected 20 per page. Use Maximum results to set an exact cap. For very large pulls, split the search by category, level or location.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is pay-per-result: a small fixed amount for every job returned, plus standard Apify platform usage, plus your own The Muse API usage (billed by The Muse against your key). A run that returns nothing costs almost nothing.
Can I filter to a specific company?
Yes. Set the Company field to a company name to return only that employer's open roles on The Muse.
Can I run this on a schedule?
Yes. Use Apify Schedules to run it hourly or daily and connect the dataset to Zapier, Make, n8n, webhooks or the API to pipe new jobs anywhere.
Is this legal?
The actor returns publicly available job listings through The Muse's official API using your own licensed API key. No login-walled or personal data is collected.
