💼 What is Company Funding Rounds Scraper?
Company Funding Rounds Scraper gives you one row per funding round announced in the press, worldwide: company, funding amount in US dollars (and in the original currency), round stage, lead investors and other investors, company website, LinkedIn page and more. It reads ten news media: FinSMEs (worldwide), EU-Startups and Tech.eu (Europe), BetaKit (Canada), LatamList (Latin America), Wamda (Middle East and North Africa), TechCrunch (United States and worldwide), Inc42 (India), The SaaS News (software companies) and PR Newswire (venture capital press releases). It works as a funding rounds API alternative: run it on a schedule, call it from your code, or plug it into Make, Zapier or n8n.
Pick a period (7 days), a stage, a sector or an amount range, click Start, and download the rounds in JSON, CSV or Excel. No login, nothing to set up, and it is fast: about 100 rounds from the last 3 days in 10 seconds, all ten media read (measured on a test run). The same round told by several media becomes one row, with every article link.
📋 What data can you extract about funding rounds?
One row per funding round, 47 fields:
| Category | What you get |
|---|---|
| 🏢 Company | name, company website and domain, logo, one-line description, headquarters city, state and country, founding year, sectors (fintech, health, AI…) — Biotia, New York |
| 💵 Funding amount | amount in the original currency, funding amount in USD (the dollar figure the article gives, or the European Central Bank rate of the run day), currency, the amount as written, valuation and total raised so far when the article says it — $9M |
| 🪜 Round stage | normalised stage (pre-seed, seed, series A to E+, growth, debt, grant…) and the stage as the article words it — Series A extension |
| 🤝 Investors | lead investors, every investor named, how many — Convergent Ventures |
| 👤 Founder and use of funds | the founder or CEO the article names, with the title, and what the money is for |
| 📰 Press coverage | headline, first sentence, link to the article, every article that reported the round, how many media told it, the tags the media filed it under |
| 🕒 Dates | the day the round was announced — what the date filters read |
| 🔗 Social profiles (option) | the company's LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, GitHub and Crunchbase pages, found on its website |
| ✉️ E-mails and phone numbers (options) | contact e-mail addresses and phone numbers the company publishes on its website |
Every field, with an example, is listed in the Output section below. Founding year, valuation, total raised and the founder are filled only when the article says them: a field the article does not give is empty, never guessed.
✅ Why use Company Funding Rounds Scraper?
- 🚀 Fast: about 100 rounds from the last 3 days in 10 seconds, ten media read.
- 🌍 Ten media, one list: worldwide, Europe, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, India. You choose which ones to read.
- 🧩 One row per round, not per article: when several media report the same round (same company, articles within 7 days of each other, same stage or amounts within 5 % of each other) they become one row, with every link in
sourceUrlsand their count inmentions. - 💵 Amount in USD and in the original currency: compare rounds announced in euros, pounds or rupees on one scale.
- 🎯 Filters on what matters: stage, sector, amount in USD, currency, year of creation, investors (as lead or not), company location, keywords. Filtered-out rounds are not saved and never count in Max rounds.
- 🔔 Monitoring built in: tick Only new rounds, schedule the Actor, and each run returns only the rounds it has never delivered before, even when a medium tells a round a day after another.
- 📇 Contacts as options, off by default: social profiles, e-mails and phone numbers from the company's own website, charged only when found.
- 🔌 API, scheduling, integrations (Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets…) and JSON/CSV/Excel export via the Apify platform.
🚀 How to scrape funding rounds
- Create a free Apify account.
- Open Company Funding Rounds Scraper, set Announced after (e.g.
7 days) and, if you want, a Keyword, a Company location, Funding stages or Sectors. - Tick Find social profiles, Find e-mails or Find phone numbers for the contacts of each company (options, off by default).
- Set Max rounds (100 by default,
0= no limit) — and Max rounds per search when you run several searches — then click Start. - Download the rounds in JSON, CSV, Excel or via API.
💰 How much does it cost to scrape funding rounds?
This Actor uses pay per event pricing: you pay for each round saved, plus a small fee at each run start. The contact options are charged only for what they find. The prices are on the Pricing tab of the Actor page and depend on your Apify plan. Platform usage (compute, proxy) is included in the price.
| You pay for | Event |
|---|---|
| Each round saved (the row, all fields except the contact options) | apify-default-dataset-item |
| Each run start | apify-actor-start |
| Each round one of your filters drops after it was read (a round you keep pays its own price, never both) | filter-check |
| The home page of a company website read for a contact option, whatever it holds (once per round, even with all three options ticked) | website-page-read |
| A round that gets at least one social profile (Find social profiles) | social-profiles-found |
| A round that gets at least one e-mail address (Find e-mails) | email-enriched |
| A round that gets at least one phone number (Find phone numbers) | phone-found |
| A monitoring run (Only new rounds) that returns at least one new round, once per run | new-rounds-watch |
| A results page that could not be read on the standard connection and was read on a premium one: rare, FinSMEs only, never with your own proxies | residential-fallback |
A contact option you tick and that finds nothing is not charged, except the home page read (website-page-read). Articles that are not about one company's funding round are never saved nor charged. A run with the default settings pays one run start and at most 100 rounds. Rounds already delivered (Only new rounds) are never charged again.
⚙️ Input
Seed and Series A rounds of AI and fintech companies in the last week, at least 1 million dollars:
{"postedAfter": "7 days","rounds": ["seed", "series-a"],"sectors": ["ai", "fintech"],"minAmountUsd": 1000000,"maxItems": 200}
Several searches, a cap per search, only the rounds not delivered before (a weekly feed):
{"searchQueries": ["fintech", "insurtech"],"locations": ["Germany", "United Kingdom"],"maxItemsPerQuery": 50,"postedAfter": "7 days","onlyNew": true,"stateKey": "fintech-europe"}
Every round filed under one investor, with the company website, social profiles, e-mails and phone numbers:
{"startUrls": [{ "url": "https://www.finsmes.com/tag/andreessen-horowitz" }],"postedAfter": "30 days","requireWebsite": true,"findSocialProfiles": true,"enrichEmails": true,"findPhones": true,"maxItems": 100}
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
sources | The media to read, all ten by default: finsmes, eu-startups, tech-eu, betakit, latamlist, wamda, techcrunch, inc42, thesaasnews, prnewswire. Tech.eu, Wamda, The SaaS News and PR Newswire only show their latest articles. |
startUrls | Optional. Funding articles of these media (one round each) or a FinSMEs category or tag page (https://www.finsmes.com/category/germany, https://www.finsmes.com/tag/andreessen-horowitz) to read every round filed under it; a page copied with its number (https://www.finsmes.com/category/germany/page/3) starts reading at the first article of that page of the site (12 articles a page, newest first). The keyword and location searches are ignored when URLs are pasted; the other filters still apply (max 1,000 URLs). |
query, searchQueries | Only rounds whose article mentions this word or phrase (AI, fintech, battery); searchQueries adds more keywords (one search each). |
location, locations | Company country, state or city, in English (Germany, California, Berlin); locations adds more places. Rounds whose article names no place are dropped when this is set. Every keyword is searched in every location (max 500 searches per run). |
maxItems, maxItemsPerQuery | Stop after this many rounds for the whole run, or for EACH search (0 = no limit). |
mergeSources | One row per round (default): the same round told by several media is merged. Untick it to get one row per article. |
postedAfter, postedBefore | Announcement date range: 2026-09-01, or a period before now (7 days, 2 weeks, 1 month, 24 hours). |
rounds | Only these stages (pre-seed, seed, series-a, undisclosed…). Empty = every stage. Add undisclosed to keep the rounds whose stage the article does not give. |
sectors | Only companies in these sectors (ai, fintech, health…), read from the headline and the company description. |
minAmountUsd, maxAmountUsd | Amount range in US dollars (1000000). Rounds with an undisclosed amount are dropped unless Keep undisclosed amounts is ticked. |
currencies | Only rounds announced in these currencies, as 3-letter codes (USD, EUR, GBP, INR). |
minFoundedYear, maxFoundedYear | Companies founded in or after / in or before this year (2020). Rounds whose article gives no founding year are dropped when one is set. |
includeUndisclosedAmount | With a minimum or maximum amount, also keep the rounds whose amount is not disclosed. |
investors, leadInvestorsOnly | Only rounds where one of these investors took part (Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia, Y Combinator); partial names work, case and accents are ignored. leadInvestorsOnly keeps a round only when one of them led it. |
requireWebsite, requireInvestors | Drop the rounds whose article links no company website, or names no investor. |
excludeKeywords | Drop the rounds whose headline, company description or first sentence of the article contains one of these words (crypto, nft), as whole words (ai finds AI-powered, not raises). Case and accents ignored. |
findSocialProfiles, enrichEmails, findPhones | Contact options, off by default, read from the company's home page: social profiles, e-mail addresses, phone numbers. |
stateKey, onlyNew, resetState | Monitoring. stateKey names the memory (fintech-europe); onlyNew skips the rounds already delivered under that name; resetState forgets the memory before the run. |
| Advanced | proxyConfiguration (Apify proxy by default, included in the price; the residential proxy is not available), maxConcurrency, maxRequestsPerMinute, minRequestIntervalMs, maxRequestRetries, debugLog. |
📦 Output
One real round from a test run with the three contact options ticked. It is shortened: fields the article left empty are left out, and the lists of investors and tags are cut to three.

💡 Tips
How to get more results
Set maxItems to 0 and leave postedAfter empty: the rounds come newest first, as far back as the media let you read. For a precise period use postedAfter and postedBefore. Keep all ten media in sources: each one brings rounds the others did not report.
How to reduce costs
The price is per round saved, so the levers are maxItems, maxItemsPerQuery, the filters (a dropped round costs only the filter fee, lower than a round) and onlyNew for recurring runs (you never pay twice for the same round). Tick a contact option only when you need it: the home page of each company is read once for all three, and each option is charged only on the rounds where it finds something.
Several searches in one run
Fill searchQueries and / or locations: the Actor runs one search per keyword × location (3 keywords × 4 cities = 12 searches, up to 500 per run). The single query and location fields still work and are added to the lists. A round found by several searches is saved, and charged, once. Set maxItemsPerQuery to give every search its own cap: without it the first searches can use up the whole maxItems budget.
Contacts of the companies
The three contact options read the home page of the website the article links to, once per round. They return what the company publishes there: social profiles, up to 10 e-mail addresses and up to 5 phone numbers. Combine them with requireWebsite to pay only for rounds that have a website to read.
Monitoring: only the new rounds
Tick Only new rounds (onlyNew) and schedule the Actor. The first run returns everything; each later run skips the rounds already delivered: they are not saved and not charged. The memory lives in a named key-value store of your account (company-funding-rounds-scraper-seen, up to 150,000 entries per key) and is only updated with rounds that really reached the dataset, so a failed run never hides anything. It keeps each round and the address of each article delivered, so a round reported again by another medium the next day is still recognised. Give each schedule its own stateKey (two schedules sharing a key would hide each other's rounds), and tick resetState once to start over. Searches are sorted by newest, and a search stops once it meets 100 articles in a row that you already have.
Filter by announcement date
postedAfter and postedBefore take a date (2026-09-01, the whole day is included) or a period before now (7 days, 2 weeks, 1 month; via the API also 24 hours or a full ISO date-time). The filter reads announcedAt. Filtered-out rounds are not saved and do not count in maxItems; the run summary tells how many were filtered. With postedAfter, reading stops at the first page that is entirely too old.
🔌 Integrations and API
Call the Actor via the Apify API, the JavaScript or Python clients, or connect it with integrations and webhooks (Make, Zapier, n8n, Google Sheets, Slack, Airtable, HubSpot…). The dataset can be fetched as JSON or CSV from any tool: a daily Slack message with the new Series A rounds of your sector is one schedule and one webhook.
🤖 Use with AI agents (MCP)
AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor…) can find and run this Actor through the Apify MCP server, billed to their Apify account like any run. It returns one item per funding round announced in the press. Actor id: nice_dev/company-funding-rounds-scraper; MCP server with this Actor only: https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=fetch-actor-details,nice_dev/company-funding-rounds-scraper.
Smallest input, for a cheap first call:
{"postedAfter": "3 days","maxItems": 10}
Key output fields: companyName, round, amountUsd, leadInvestors, investors, announcedAt, companyWebsite and url.
Cost: pay per event, see the pricing section above. Cap each call with maxItems and, through the API, with the run option maxTotalChargeUsd.
❓ FAQ
Is it legal to scrape funding round announcements?
The Actor only reads what news media and companies publish openly to any anonymous visitor: press articles about funding rounds and, with the contact options, the public home page of the company's own website. It logs in to nothing and solves no captcha. From each article it keeps the facts (company, amount, stage, investors, date), a first sentence of up to 300 characters and the link to the article, never the full text. Results can contain personal data protected by GDPR: the founder or CEO the article names, individual investors and, with the options, e-mail addresses and phone numbers, some of which are personal (firstname.lastname@…). Do not store them without a legitimate reason: you are responsible for having a lawful basis, for informing the people concerned and for honouring opt-outs, and rules for B2B e-mail prospecting differ by country. You are also responsible for using the data in compliance with the Terms of Use of the media and of the company websites and with applicable law, copyright included. This Actor is not affiliated with the news media it reads or with the companies in the results.
Where do the social profiles, e-mails and phone numbers come from?
With a contact option on, the Actor reads the home page of the company's own website, the one its article links to, once per round, and returns what any visitor sees there: links to its social profiles, the e-mail addresses it publishes and the phone numbers the site marks as phone numbers. It does not log in, guess addresses, read contact forms or take a number written in plain text. Many small companies publish no phone number: in a test run of 15 rounds, 14 home pages were read and one gave a number, so phones and emails stay empty on a round whose company does not publish them.
Does it need a login or a proxy?
No login. The proxy is included in the price: leave the default setting (the residential proxy is not available). A request a medium turns away is retried at once on a new proxy session, up to 10 times on top of the retries (without a proxy, after a pause of 5 seconds, doubled at each retry up to 150 seconds).
Is the data safe to open in Excel or to show on a web page?
Headlines, names and descriptions are the media's and the companies' own words, copied as they are. A text can begin with -, +, = or @ (a phone number such as +19177301829, a headline such as -20% valuation): Excel and Google Sheets may read such a cell of a CSV file as a formula or as a number. The Actor leaves the text as it is, so that the JSON and the API give the real value: when you open a CSV, import these columns as text. Every URL field holds an https:// or http:// URL, or null: never javascript: nor data:. On a web page, escape every field like any text written by a stranger.
Known limitations
- Tech.eu, Wamda, The SaaS News and PR Newswire only show their latest articles: they bring the rounds of the last days, never older ones. The other media can be read back in time with
postedAfterandpostedBefore. - About 3 rounds in 10 have no stage in the article (
roundisundisclosed) and about 1 in 10 gives no amount (28 and 13 of 100 rounds in a test run);amountandamountUsdare then empty, never 0. Addundisclosedtoroundsand tickincludeUndisclosedAmountto keep them when you filter. - The amount in USD is the dollar figure the article gives next to another currency (
£8.2m (around $11m)), otherwise the European Central Bank rate of the run day. If the bank does not answer, the run uses fixed rates saved with the Actor, and a currency neither knows has noamountUsd. - Articles that are not about one round (weekly roundups, interviews, market reports, acquisitions) are left out, and so are articles not written in English. A venture fund that closes its own fund is a row, with the stage
venture-fund. - A round is merged only with articles read in the same run: articles outside your date range are not read.
- A round is recognised as already delivered by its company, stage and month, or by the address of an article already delivered. A later article about the same round, in another month and with none of the earlier articles read again, can bring it back once.
onlyNewremembers rounds, not their content: a round whose amount was corrected is not returned again.- Two runs sharing the same
stateKeyat the same time may both return the same new round. phonesandemailsare empty when the company website does not publish them, and the contact options need a company website:requireWebsitedrops the rounds without one.
A run that reaches its timeout stops itself about 45 seconds before it: no new page is asked, what it read is saved and, with onlyNew, remembered, and the run ends Succeeded with "Stopped before the run's timeout". Resurrect it to go on from there, or give the next run a longer timeout (Run options).
A run the platform stops without warning (out of memory)
- Resurrect it: it goes on from where it stood at most a minute before the stop. What it had read since is read again, and the rounds already saved are skipped: none is delivered or charged twice, and
maxItemsstill counts them. - With
onlyNew, the memory is saved after each write (at most once every 2 seconds): resurrect the stopped run and the rounds it had saved meanwhile join the memory; leave it stopped for good, and the next run may return the rounds of its last 2 seconds once more.
Something doesn't work?
The last line of the log counts the rounds saved, the articles that were not a funding round, the ones merged into a round already read and the requests that failed after every retry. Those requests are listed, with the reason, in the FAILED_REQUESTS record of the run's key-value store. A run that saved nothing and had failed requests fails, and its last message gives the cause.
If a medium changes its pages, you are told instead of paying for blank rows. Each medium is checked on its own: if the first 20 rounds read from one of them all lack their summary (or, on FinSMEs, the company website), the run saves nothing more, stops and fails, and its last message names the medium and the missing field: at most those first rounds are charged. A medium with fewer rounds in the run (a scheduled onlyNew run that finds a few new ones, a small Max rounds) is checked at its end, from 5 rounds: its rounds are already saved, and the run fails with the missing field instead of ending green. A medium whose articles can no longer be read at all (their date, title or link renamed) gives no row: the other media are read as usual, and the run fails at its end, naming that medium and what it stopped giving.
🛟 Support
Open an issue in the Issues tab with a link to your run: the run log and the FAILED_REQUESTS record of the key-value store show exactly which URLs failed and why.
