FAQ

How do I enter a title?

As movie/<slug>, tv/<slug> or game/<slug> — the slug is the part of the metacritic.com URL after /movie/, /tv/ or /game/ — or paste the link itself. A bare slug is skipped, because the same slug can be a movie and a game.

How many reviews can I get?

All of them. The Actor keeps paging until it has Max Reviews per Title reviews or Metacritic runs out — popular games carry 6,000+ user reviews, and IGN alone has 18,000+ critic reviews on Metacritic. Critic and user reviews count separately, so a title with both types can give twice the limit.

Can I get one platform's or one season's reviews?

Yes. Set Game Platform (ps5, pc, switch, xbox-series-x…) or paste a game link with ?platform=pc for that platform's reviews. Paste a season link (/tv/silicon-valley/season-1/) for that season's critic and user reviews.

Can I filter by sentiment?

Yes — positive, mixed or negative, for titles and seasons. Sort by Metacritic's default (critics highest score first, users newest first), newest first or highest score first.

Is the data live?

Yes. Every run fetches Metacritic live — a review posted this morning is in your dataset.

What does it cost?

$0.001 per review — $1 per 1,000, flat on every plan, with no start fee. Reviews found twice in one run are billed once. Apify's free plan gives you $5 of credit every month, which is 5,000 reviews free every month.
