Domain.com.au Real Estate Scraper
Scrape Australian real estate listings from Domain.com.au by suburb, listing type, or direct URL, up to a million per run. Every property comes with its price, bedrooms, bathrooms, and full listing details. No login or API key. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
Domain.com.au is Australia's second-largest property portal, but it has no public API for bulk data access. This actor reads the public sale, rent, and sold listings directly, letting you filter by suburb, price range, and bedroom count, and returns each match in one fixed schema.
| Who uses it | What they scrape Domain.com.au for |
|---|---|
| Real estate agents | Monitor competitor listings and pricing in their local area. |
| Property investors | Track sold prices and rental yields across multiple suburbs. |
| Data analysts | Build suburb-level price trend datasets for market reports. |
| Home buyers | Get alerted to new listings matching their budget and bedroom requirements. |
What it does
This Actor collects Australian property listings from Domain.com.au by suburb slug, listing type, or direct search URL, and returns each one as a flat row.
- ๐๏ธ Suburb search: provide a suburb slug like 'sydney-nsw-2000' and a listing type to scrape all matching properties.
- ๐ Direct URL: paste any Domain.com.au search results URL to scrape exactly that page and its pagination.
- ๐ฐ Price filters: set minimum and maximum price in AUD to narrow results to your budget range.
- ๐๏ธ Bedroom filters: specify min and max bedrooms to target houses, apartments, or units of a certain size.
- ๐ Listing types: choose from For Sale, For Rent, or Sold listings to match your research goal.
Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.
What you can do with Domain.com.au data
๐ Build a suburb price report.
A property analyst scrapes all sold listings for 'melbourne-vic-3000' from the last 12 months to calculate median price changes.
๐ Monitor new rental listings.
A tenant runs the actor daily on a 'rent' search for 'brisbane-qld-4000' with a max price filter to catch new apartments within budget.
๐ Track competitor stock levels.
A real estate agent scrapes 'sale' listings in their agency's suburb to see how many competing properties are on the market.
๐ Research sold prices for a specific property type.
An investor filters sold listings by 3 bedrooms and a price cap to value a potential purchase in 'perth-wa-6000'.

A larger pull:

Troubleshooting
Why am I getting no results?
Check that your suburb slug is correct and matches the format 'suburb-state-postcode'. Also verify that your price and bedroom filters are not too restrictive for that area.
The actor is running very slowly.
Domain.com.au may be rate-limiting your IP. Try using an Apify proxy configuration in the Advanced settings to rotate IP addresses.
I get an error when using a Start URL.
Make sure the URL is a valid Domain.com.au search results page and that it starts with 'https://www.domain.com.au/'. A single listing URL will not work.
The number of results is less than my maxItems setting.
The actor stops when it runs out of listings on Domain.com.au. If the total available listings for your search are fewer than your maxItems, it will return only what exists.
Some listing fields are empty in my dataset.
Not all listings on Domain.com.au have every field filled in by the agent. If a price or bedroom count is missing on the website, it will be empty in your results.
FAQ
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Do I need a Domain.com.au account or API key? | No. The actor scrapes publicly accessible listing pages, so no login, API key, or registration is required. |
| How do I find the suburb slug for my search? | Go to Domain.com.au, search for a suburb, and copy the slug from the URL. It looks like 'sydney-nsw-2000' or 'melbourne-vic-3000'. |
| Can I scrape sold listings? | Yes. Set the Listing Type to 'Sold' and provide a suburb slug. The actor will return the sold price and date for each property. |
| What is the maximum number of listings I can scrape? | You can set the maximum up to 1,000,000 properties per run. The actual number depends on how many listings match your filters. |
| Can I scrape a specific search URL I already have? | Yes. Paste your full Domain.com.au search URL into the Start URL field, and the actor will scrape that exact result set, ignoring the suburb and filter fields. |
| Does this work for commercial properties? | The actor scrapes whatever listings appear on the residential sale, rent, and sold pages. It does not have a separate commercial property mode. |
| What format is the data exported in? | You can export your dataset in CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML from the Apify platform. |
| How often can I run this actor? | You can schedule runs as frequently as you need. Using Apify proxies is recommended to avoid IP blocks on very frequent runs. |
| Does the actor handle pagination? | Yes. It automatically follows the 'Next' page links on Domain.com.au search results until it reaches your maximum items limit. |
| Can I filter by property type, like house or apartment? | The current input schema does not have a property type filter. You can achieve this by using a Start URL with the property type filter already applied on Domain.com.au. |
