INE Spain Statistics Scraper
Scrape official INE Spain statistics: operations, tables, datasets, and time series. Get clean, structured data from the Spanish National Statistics Institute without writing API calls. Export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML.
The Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE) publishes official economic and demographic data, but its API and web interface are hard to navigate and return nested JSON. This Actor reads the public INE catalogue directly and returns operations, tables, datasets, and individual time series as flat rows. No API key or registration is needed.
| Who uses it | What they scrape INE Spain for |
|---|---|
| Economists and analysts | Pull official Spanish economic indicators like IPC or GDP into their models |
| Data journalists | Get clean INE datasets for charts and stories without manual downloads |
| Market researchers | Track demographic and social statistics for Spain over time |
| Academic researchers | Collect consistent time series for papers and theses |
| Business intelligence teams | Monitor Spanish economic trends for planning and forecasting |
What it does
This Actor collects INE Spain statistical operations, tables, datasets, and time series, and returns each record as a flat row with labels in English or Spanish.
- 📋 Operations mode: list all INE Spain statistical operations with their codes and names.
- 📊 Tables mode: list every table available for one operation code, like IPC or EPA.
- 📈 Dataset mode: fetch observation values for a table ID, limited to the latest N periods.
- 📉 Series mode: pull a single time series by its SERIE code, such as IPC206449.
- 🌐 Bilingual labels: get all labels in English or Spanish with one setting.
Results export to CSV, JSON, Excel, or XML, or straight from the API.
What you can do with INE Spain data
📈 Track Spanish inflation.
An economist runs the Actor in dataset mode with the IPC table ID and latestN set to 12 to get the last year of monthly inflation data for a report.
📊 Build a demographic dashboard.
A data analyst collects population tables from INE operations and feeds the flat rows into a BI tool to visualize regional trends.
📉 Monitor unemployment.
A market researcher pulls the EPA time series by series code to track quarterly unemployment rates and compare them with forecasts.
🗂️ Catalogue all INE operations.
A developer runs the Actor in operations mode to get a complete list of statistical operations and their codes for building an internal data dictionary.
🌐 Compare Spanish regions.
A journalist scrapes a dataset with regional breakdowns and exports it to CSV to create a story on economic differences across Spain.

Troubleshooting
Why am I getting no results?
Check that the operation code, table ID, or series code is correct. Run operations mode first to verify codes. Also ensure the mode matches the input you provided.
Why is the dataset empty?
The table ID may not have data for the selected language or period. Try a different table ID or set latestN to a larger number.
Why are labels in English when I wanted Spanish?
Set the language input to ES. The default is EN. If labels are still in English, the INE API may not have Spanish translations for that item.
Why did the run time out?
Large datasets can take time. Reduce maxItems or latestN to limit the amount of data. You can also increase the Actor's timeout in the run settings.
Why do I get an error for an invalid code?
INE codes are case-sensitive and must match exactly. Copy the code from the operations or tables list, not from memory.
