Actors are a new way to package software tools to make them easy to develop, share, integrate, and build upon. They are based on Docker images, they accept a well-defined JSON input, perform an action, and optionally produce a well-defined JSON output.
No. You can either let Apify maintain it (Passive tier) or manage it yourself (Active tier) to earn from users who land directly on your Actor page or through added monetization.
Yes. You can add direct monetization. Set a price per run or usage while Apify manages hosting and billing.

After joining the Apify Affiliate Program, you’ll find your unique tracking link in your affiliate dashboard.
You get 20% recurring commission for every new Apify customer who signs up through your link and/or directly from your Actor page depending on your tier.
Apify sends payouts monthly, either directly via PayPal or wire transfer, or via GitHub Sponsors.
The minimum payout is $100, but we can make some exceptions. Please note that for any payout below $100 we will need you to send us an invoice.
