Search New Jersey Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) filing records from the official NJ Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services portal. Find source-reported active and lapsed records by organization name, individual debtor name, or filing number, then optionally enrich results with NJ business-entity data.
What data do you get?
Each found result includes:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| setupStatus | found; explicit status records use no_match or source_unavailable |
| sourceUrl / retrievedAt | Official portal URL and UTC retrieval timestamp |
| debtorName | Organization or individual debtor name |
| city | City of the debtor |
| state | State (NJ) |
| filingNumber | Official NJ UCC filing number |
| filingStatus | Point-in-time status reported by the NJ portal (Active, Lapsed, or other) |
| isActive | True when the source-reported status is Active |
| filingDate | Date the UCC filing was made |
| lapseDate | Mechanical initial five-year anniversary estimate; not legal expiry |
| daysSinceFiling | Number of days since the filing was made |
| daysUntilLapse | Days to/from the mechanical initial five-year estimate |
| pageCount | Number of document pages |
| entityType | Business entity type from NJ registry (e.g. Domestic Profit Corporation, LLC) |
| entityTypeCode | Entity type code (e.g. DP, LLC, FPC) |
| incorporatedDate | Incorporation/formation date from NJ registry |
| entityId | NJ 10-digit business entity ID |
| evidenceNotice | Non-certified search, identity, completeness, and legal-effect limits |
| lapseEstimateNotice | Warning that lapse fields are mechanical estimates, not legal expiry |
Entity fields are populated only when Enrich with Business Entity Data is enabled (default: off). The actor cross-references each debtor name against the NJ Division of Revenue business entity database. This is optional name-based context, not identity resolution.
Use cases
- Credit screening -- Find source-reported UCC filings before extending credit
- KYB/compliance support -- Attach official-source filing evidence to business reviews
- Legal research -- Locate filing records associated with a debtor name
- Sales intelligence -- Research businesses with recorded secured-financing filings
- Portfolio monitoring -- Track source-reported filing-status changes
- Lender leads -- Find businesses with active records and filter by entity type, formation date, and filing recency
How to use
- Enter a search query -- Organization name (e.g. "JPMorgan"), individual last name, or filing number
- Select search type -- Organization, Individual, or Filing Number
- Set the result cap -- The default evaluation returns one source-linked JPMorgan record for at most $0.0021 including the minimum start fee
- Optionally enable enrichment -- Adds a name-based NJ business-registry cross-reference, but is slower and does not prove entity identity
- Run the actor -- Results are returned in the Output tab; no-match and temporary source-unavailable outcomes are explicit
Example searches
- Search

SMITHas Individual to find UCC filings with individual debtor "Smith" - Toggle Include Lapsed Filings to include records the NJ portal reports as lapsed
Output formats
Export UCC filing results as JSON, CSV, Excel, or access via API. Integrate debtor-lien data with your CRM, credit workflow, compliance system, or collateral-monitoring pipeline.
Pricing
Pay per event: $0.0001 minimum start fee + $0.002 per output record (about $2 per 1,000 records, plus the start fee). The one-record default costs at most $0.0021. No subscription is required.
Evidence limits
- Results are point-in-time public filing evidence from the NJ portal, not a certified search, legal opinion, lien-priority determination, or assurance that every relevant debtor-name variation was found.
filingStatusis the portal-reported status.isActiveis derived from that status.lapseDateanddaysUntilLapseare mechanical estimates based on the original filing date plus five years. Continuations and other UCC rules can keep a filing active beyond that estimate; an active source status can therefore coexist with a past estimate. Do not use the estimate as legal expiry.- Similar debtor names require identity and address review. Business-entity enrichment is a name-based cross-reference and does not prove that the registry entity is the filing debtor.
- Source records and statuses can change. Use certified records and qualified counsel where a legal determination is required.
- The actor retries transient request, body-read, rate-limit, and server failures within a bounded window. If the official portal remains unavailable, it returns
source_unavailable; that is not a no-match conclusion.
Data source
Filing data comes from the official NJ Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services UCC search portal. Business-entity enrichment data comes from the NJ Business Name Search.
