💵 How much does it cost to scrape Copart?

The Actor uses pay per event pricing, so you pay for the data you get and nothing else — no compute units to reason about.

💡 Tips

• Leave includeAllPhotos off unless you actually need the galleries. Every lot already ships with a preview image, and the gallery costs nearly twice as much per lot.
• Filter server-side, not afterwards. Using make, state or the year range is free — pulling 50,000 lots and filtering them in your own code is not.
• Schedule a daily run with a tight filter to build a price history for the vehicles you care about. currentBid, sellerReserveMet and saleStatus change as auctions progress.
• Sort by relevance with searchQuery. Leaving it empty browses the catalog by auction date instead, which is what you want for a full sweep.

❓ FAQ

Why is part of the VIN hidden? Copart only shows the full 17-character VIN to logged-in members, so the last six characters come back masked (5YJ3E1EAXPF******) everywhere on the public site. The visible 11 characters still decode to the world manufacturer identifier and the full vehicle descriptor — make, model, body, engine, restraint system, model year and assembly plant. Only the production serial number is withheld.

Can I scrape the UK, German or Spanish Copart sites? Not with this Actor. It covers the United States and Canada. If you need another market, open an issue and we will look into it.

How many lots can I get in one run? As many as match your filters — there is no depth limit. The full US catalog is well over 400,000 vehicles and a complete sweep takes roughly half an hour.

Do I need my own proxies? No. The default proxy configuration works out of the box on any Apify plan.

Is scraping Copart legal? This Actor only collects data that Copart publishes publicly, without logging in and without touching personal information. Web scraping of public data is legal in many jurisdictions, but how you use the data is your responsibility — check your local regulations and Copart's Terms of Service, and consult a lawyer if you are unsure.
