What does PennyScout do?
PennyScout extracts product names, prices, currency, availability and source links from supported public product pages and saves unique records to an Apify dataset.
How to use it
- Open Input and choose Demo catalog for a practice run or Live product pages for your own URLs.
- Start with a maximum of 5 records and low page limits.
- Run the Actor and inspect Products and the run summary.
- Export results as CSV, JSON or Excel.
Demo mode uses https://books.toscrape.com/ and marks its fictional product data with is_demo. Demo records are subject to the same pricing.
Supported pages and limits
Live mode expects JSON-LD Product objects with offers containing a price and currency. It processes supplied URLs only and does not automatically discover links. Maximum records defaults to 5. Maximum pages defaults to 5 and is capped at 100. The default delay between requests is one second.
Output
Records include name, sku when available, price, currency, availability, product_url, source_url, observed_at, record_id and is_demo. Duplicate offers are omitted within a run. Missing or invalid names, prices and currency codes are skipped.
Pricing
Product records cost $1.00 per 1,000 records saved to the default dataset ($0.001 each). The Actor Start event costs $0.00005 per GB of allocated memory, with a minimum of one event per run. Platform usage is included in this pay-per-event price. See the Pricing tab for current rates and set a maximum charge before running.
Coverage and support
This is an early release with an initial live product-page test completed. JavaScript-only products, price ranges without a specific offer and pages without supported structured data may return no results. Redirects to another domain are unsupported. Prices can change after collection.
Only crawl sources you are permitted to use. The crawler respects robots.txt and does not bypass access controls. Inspect the log and run summary when troubleshooting, and use the Issues tab for feedback.
