Audit the on-page SEO of hundreds of pages in one run: title and meta description (with lengths), canonical, noindex, H1 and heading structure, Open Graph and Twitter cards, JSON-LD structured data, hreflang, images without alt, links and word count. Each page gets an A-F grade with the exact issues to fix.
- Plain-language issues. For example: "Title is 72 characters: it may be cut in search results (aim for 30-60)." or "The page is set to noindex: search engines will not list it."
- Catches the costly mistakes. Pages left in
noindex(meta tag orX-Robots-Tagheader), 404s, missing canonicals, invalid JSON-LD, pages not ready for mobile. - Fast and cheap. One HTTP request per page, no browser: $2 per 1,000 pages, where full SEO crawlers charge $15 to $40.
- No result, no charge. Invalid inputs, unreachable pages and non-HTML files are returned for transparency but not billed.
What can I use it for?
- SEO agencies and freelancers: audit a client's key pages before a proposal, or check them every week on a schedule.
- Site migrations and releases: make sure no page went out with
noindex, a wrong canonical or a missing title. - Content teams: find titles and descriptions that are too long, too short or missing, at scale.
- Prospecting: grade the home pages of a list of companies and spot the ones that need SEO help.
- AI agents: let an agent check a page's SEO basics through the Apify MCP server (see below).
Tip: to audit a whole site, get its URLs with Sitemap URL Extractor and pass them here.
Input
{ "urls": ["https://apify.com", "example.com", "https://wordpress.org/plugins/"] }
Output
One row per page. Example from a real run (shortened):
{"url": "https://apify.com/","finalUrl": "https://apify.com/","status": 200,"responseTimeMs": 158,"score": 100,"grade": "A","issues": [],"indexable": true,"title": "Apify: Marketplace of ready-to-run tools for AI","titleLength": 47,"metaDescription": "Thousands of tools to automate your business. Get real-time web data, track competitors, generate leads, and integrate your apps and AI agents.","metaDescriptionLength": 143,"canonical": "https://apify.com/","canonicalIsSelf": true,"metaRobots": "index,follow","lang": "en","h1": ["85,842 tools for your AI"],"headings": { "h1": 1, "h2": 11, "h3": 20, "h4": 3, "h5": 0, "h6": 0 },"wordCount": 1596,"images": 78,"imagesWithoutAlt": 0,"internalLinks": 78,"externalLinks": 58,"openGraph": { "title": "Apify: Marketplace of ready-to-run tools for AI", "type": "website", "image": "https://apify.com/og-image?..." },"structuredDataTypes": ["Organization", "WebSite", "SoftwareApplication"],"error": null}
The same check on example.com gives a C (61/100) with 7 issues: short title, no meta description, no H1, no canonical, no Open Graph, no structured data, thin content.
Grading: the score starts at 100 and loses points for each problem.
| Problem | Points lost |
|---|---|
| HTTP error (4xx, 5xx) | 40 |
noindex (meta or header) | 30 |
| No title | 15 |
| No meta description, no H1, no viewport, no HTTPS | 10 each |
| No canonical, images without alt, invalid JSON-LD, slow server (> 3 s), title length off | 5 each |
| Several H1, description length off, no lang, no Open Graph, no JSON-LD, thin content | 3 each |
The grade is A from 90 points, B from 75, C from 60 and D from 40.
Pricing
$0.002 per page audited ($2 per 1,000 pages) plus Apify's small run-start fee. No subscription. Invalid inputs, unreachable pages, non-HTML files and internal addresses are free.
How it works, and its limits
Each page is fetched once, like a search engine bot would (redirects followed, at most 4 requests per second per site). JavaScript is not executed: tags added by scripts after the page loads are not seen. Google renders JavaScript too, so for single-page apps compare with a browser-based check.
No personal data is collected: the output only describes the page's SEO elements.
Use it from AI agents (MCP)
Add seo-audit-checker to the Apify MCP server in your MCP client (Claude, Cursor, VS Code...).
Integrations
Apify API, schedules, webhooks, Make, Zapier, n8n. Export as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML.
