Search the public Packagist catalog or browse popular Composer/PHP packages and export structured package rows.

Use it for PHP package discovery, dependency research, ecosystem analysis, package-market research, catalog datasets, and automated software-data workflows.

Common use cases

  • Discover Composer packages by keyword
  • Browse popular packages without per-package enrichment calls
  • Research package descriptions, repositories, downloads, and favorites
  • Build bounded PHP ecosystem datasets
  • Feed Packagist search results into downstream analysis or automation

What you get

One package row can include package name, vendor/package split, description, canonical Packagist URL, repository URL when supplied, downloads, favorites, source rank/page and exact search provenance.

Source

Official anonymous Packagist endpoints:

Packagist documents both endpoints for anonymous use. The Popular endpoint is specifically provided so consumers do not need to fetch download statistics package-by-package.

Input

Modes:

  • Popular packages — Store default
  • Search packages — optional query, package type, or tag

Hard cap: 1,000 package rows.

Important limitations

This low-touch v1 deliberately uses only list/search responses. It does not call per-package detail endpoints, fetch version history or dependency maps, query GitHub, fetch maintainers or security advisories, or crawl package websites.

That keeps a 1,000-row run bounded to roughly 10 source pages rather than 1,000+ enrichment calls.

Pricing

Only successfully saved package rows are billed. Legitimate empty and budget-limit summaries are non-billed.

Private candidate target: $0.25 per 1,000 package rows, subject to live economics and final market-floor recheck.

Public release is a separate decision.
