Amazon price and availability changes, not repeated snapshots

Amazon Price and Stock Change Monitor Alerts watches a bounded list of public Amazon product pages and emits records only when a tracked price or availability value differs from the previous successful baseline. It is designed for competitor monitoring, purchasing alerts, reseller operations, catalog research, and automation workflows that need changes rather than a complete product scrape every time.

Provide up to 20 HTTPS Amazon product URLs containing valid ASINs. The Actor fetches each public page, extracts its title, visible price, availability text, and stock interpretation, then compares those values with state retained under the selected monitorId. Separate monitor IDs maintain independent watchlists. A source-status summary shows which pages succeeded and which failed.

Baselines and billing safety

previewOnly=true is the default. Preview mode verifies current source access and returns diagnostics without charging custom events or changing persistent state. On the first non-preview run, the Actor creates the baseline without describing the existing values as changes. Later runs emit only genuine differences. This prevents a fresh watchlist from billing every product immediately.

The Actor uses limited-permission named key-value storage for its baseline. State is bounded, inputs are capped, requests use timeouts, and Amazon verification pages cause explicit source failures rather than misleading empty output. If every page fails, the run fails visibly. Partial failures preserve successful observations and are disclosed in the summary.

Output

Change records contain ASIN, title, current and previous price, current and previous availability, changed fields, product URL, and observation time. The changes dataset view is arranged for webhooks, spreadsheets, alerting systems, and downstream price-history stores.

Pricing

Pricing is Pay per event + usage with no start fee. A delivered change uses event amazon_price_stock_change at $0.005. Unchanged products do not emit paid events. Apify platform usage is charged separately to the runner under normal compute and storage rules. Free preview mode emits no paid event.

Public retail pages can change structure or challenge automated access. This Actor detects common verification responses, exposes source health, and avoids claiming observations it could not parse. Users are responsible for lawful usage, appropriate schedules, and compliance with applicable terms and policies.
