New Liquor License Leads — TX & CA (Restaurant & Bar Openings)

Fresh pre-opening restaurant and bar leads, straight from official state liquor-license records. A new liquor-license application means a bar, restaurant, or store is opening in the next ~30–90 days — the perfect moment to reach them, before your competitors do.

Built for sales teams that sell TO food-service businesses:

  • 🍽️ Restaurant suppliers & equipment dealers
  • 💳 POS and merchant-services reps
  • 🍺 Beverage distributors
  • 📋 Insurance brokers & payroll providers
  • 🏢 Commercial real-estate and signage/build-out services

Why this Actor is reliable

It reads official government sources, not third-party directories:

StateSourceFreshness
TexasOfficial TABC records — pending applications and newly issued licensesUpdated daily by the state
CaliforniaOfficial ABC new-application recordsPublished every business day

Because the data comes straight from the state, there's nothing to block and nothing to break on a website redesign. Volume: Texas alone produced ~390 leads in a 7-day window (measured 2026-07-16).

Two lead types

  • pending_application — license applied for; the business is in build-out/opening mode. Earliest signal. (TX + CA)
  • newly_issued — license granted; opening is imminent or just happened. Confirmed signal. (TX)

Delta mode: only what's new

Turn on Only new since last run and schedule the Actor daily or weekly: every run returns only leads you haven't seen before. Deduplication is per license number, so a business filing several subordinate permits at once (e.g. mixed-beverage + late-hours) shows up as one lead, not three. Pipe it straight into your CRM, a Google Sheet, Slack, or an n8n/Make/Zapier workflow via the Apify integrations.

Filter by county (e.g. only Harris + Dallas) and by license type code (e.g. only MB mixed-beverage = full bars) right in the input.

Notes & honest limits

  • License-type descriptions are decoded for the common codes (TX: MB, P, Q, BG, BQ, BW, BP, W, G, N, NT, FB, LH — CA: 20, 21, 40, 41, 42, 47, 48, 51, 57, 58). Rare codes pass through raw with licenseTypeDescription: null — never guessed.
  • CA rows carry the ABC action code in status (e.g. PEND / ORI = original application, PER = person-to-person transfer, PRM = premises transfer). Transfers are leads too — a location changing hands buys new services.
  • CA businessName comes from the report's DBA: line when present.
  • Trade names (businessName) come straight from the state records — filled on ~85% of TX rows (some filings list only the owning entity). A field the state left empty is simply omitted from that row, never emitted as a null column.
  • Coverage today: TX + CA — the two biggest restaurant markets. More states are planned; ask for yours in the Issues tab and it moves up the list.
  • All data comes from openly public government pages/APIs. No logins, no CAPTCHA bypassing, nothing gated.
  1. Set Only new since last run = on.
  2. Create a Schedule: daily at 9am (or Mon/Thu for weekly digests).
  3. Add an integration: Google Sheets append, Slack message, webhook, or Make/n8n/Zapier.

Each run then delivers a clean drop of brand-new openings in your territory.
