A reply has the comment it sits under in parent_id, and the reply it answers, if any, in reply_to_id. RedNote masks commenters' user IDs, so profile_url is empty; red_id is the RedNote ID people search for.

FAQ

Do I need a RedNote account, cookies or a Chinese proxy? No.

Why do some comments come without all their replies? A thread of fewer than 4 replies comes only with the ones RedNote shows under the comment.

Can I find notes by keyword? Use the RedNote Search Scraper, then pass its note links here.

Is it legal? It reads only public comments. Comments, usernames and locations are personal data under China's PIPL, the GDPR and similar laws: use them for a legitimate purpose and honor deletion requests.
