Use it from AI agents (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor)

AI assistants can run this Actor as a tool through Apify's MCP server. Add this server URL to any MCP client:

https://mcp.apify.com?tools=rsiddiq95/github-repo-scraper

Then just ask, for example: "Find the most-starred GitHub repositories about web scraping created this year." Agent runs cost the same per result as runs from the console.

How much does it cost?

Pay per repository collected. See the Pricing tab. Searches that fail or find nothing are free.

Limits

  • GitHub returns at most 1,000 results per search. Split big searches with filters like created: or stars: ranges.
  • Without a token GitHub allows 10 searches a minute and 60 repository lookups an hour, so the Actor paces itself. A free personal access token with no permissions raises this to 30 searches a minute and 5,000 lookups an hour.

FAQ

Do I need a GitHub token? No. It just makes large runs faster. Create one at GitHub → Settings → Developer settings → Personal access tokens, with no scopes. It's stored encrypted.
