Pain points

  • NSCB's free Contractor Listing Search answers with one long web page and no download button: Clark County, all classifications, is 7,427 licences on a single 20 MB page (2026-10-06).
  • The statewide list is 19,156 licences in a 52 MB page that takes about five minutes to load, and 31% of those firms have an out-of-state address.
  • Phone numbers come in mixed formats and city, state and ZIP sit in one text line (sometimes with an empty ZIP+4 stub like '89431-'), so the page does not drop straight into a CRM.

What we solve

  • Pick a county and a classification and get every active licence in one run, with phone and street address, as clean rows ready for a CRM.
  • Uses NSCB's own county and classification filters, read live from the search form, and checks that the results page echoes the filter it was sent.
  • Splits city, state and ZIP into their own fields, keys every row on the NSCB licence number, and returns a licence found by two of your searches once.

Summary

Build a contractor prospect list for any Nevada county in one run. Choose a county (or several) and a classification — C-2 Electrical, C-15 Roofing and Siding, B General Building, any of the 41 classification families the Nevada State Contractors Board lets you search by — and get back every active licence that matches: business name, phone, street address, city, state, ZIP, licence number, the classifications shown for the licence, its monetary limit, any scope limitation and the expiry date. Leave the classification empty for every contractor in the county, or leave the county empty to search a classification across all of Nevada. Pay only per contractor returned.

Who it's for

  • Sales teams selling tools, materials, equipment or software to contractors in Las Vegas, Reno or anywhere in Nevada
  • Insurance and bonding agents prospecting for contractor accounts by county
  • General contractors building a subcontractor shortlist by classification before bidding
  • Market researchers sizing licensed trade coverage across Nevada counties

How to use

Set the input, run the actor, and collect results from the run's dataset (export to JSON/CSV/Excel, or pull via the Apify API). Example input:

{
"county": "Clark",
"trade": "C-2"
}

See Inputs below for every available field.

Inputs

FieldRequiredTypeDefaultDescription
listOptionsOnlynobooleanfalseIf true, skip the scrape and return the 17 Nevada counties plus the 41 licence classifications the Nevada State Contractors Board (NSCB) lets you search by, with their codes. Free, not charged.
tradenostring"C-2"An NSCB classification, by code or name, e.g. 'C-2', 'C02', 'Electrical', 'Roofing', 'B' (General Building). A word from the name works too: 'electric' finds C-2 Electrical. Leave it empty to get every classification in the county.
tradesnoarray["Electrical", "Roofing"]Several classifications in ONE run, e.g. C-2 and C-1 and C-15. Combined with 'Classification' if you fill both. Every classification is searched in every county, and a licence returned by two searches is returned (and billed) once.
countynostring"Douglas"Nevada county, e.g. 'Clark', 'Washoe County', 'carson city'. Case, punctuation and a trailing 'County' do not matter. Leave it empty to search all of Nevada, which also returns licensees with no Nevada county on file (mostly out-of-state firms). If it is not a Nevada county, the run returns the free county and classification lists instead of failing.
countiesnoarray["Clark", "Washoe"]Several counties in ONE run, e.g. Clark and Washoe. Combined with 'County' if you fill both.
maxResultsnointeger—Cap on the contractors returned PER county + classification search, not per run, so adding counties can never silently truncate the ones later in the list. Leave empty to return every match.
proxyConfigurationnoobject{"useApifyProxy": false}Optional. NSCB answers direct requests; enable a proxy only if runs come back with a 'blocked' notice.

Pricing (Pay Per Event)

You pay per result (dataset-item) — no charge for empty runs. Example: 855 Clark County electrical contractors at $0.002/result ≈ $1.71.

Discovery Mode and unrecognised inputs return the free county and classification lists. Apify platform usage is billed separately.

Use cases

  • Territory prospecting — pull every licensed electrician or roofer in Clark and Washoe counties and load the phone list into your CRM.
  • Subcontractor sourcing — list every contractor licensed in a classification in the county where a project sits, with each one's monetary limit, before you send bid invitations.
  • Market sizing — count active licences per classification and county to decide where to open a branch or send a rep.
  • List refresh — re-run monthly and compare licence numbers and expiry dates to spot new licences and ones that dropped off.

Why this actor

  • Phone on 1,332 of 1,342 contractors and street address and ZIP on all 1,342, across five live searches in Douglas, Clark and Washoe counties (measured 2026-10-06).
  • Straight from the Nevada State Contractors Board's own Contractor Listing Search, using its own county and classification filters.
  • Every row's count is checked against the total NSCB states on its own results page, and the log prints both.
  • Rows are keyed on the NSCB licence number, so a firm holding several licences keeps each one and a licence matched twice is billed once.
  • Pay per contractor returned; the county and classification lists are free.

Limitations & updates

Covers active licences listed by the Nevada State Contractors Board's Contractor Listing Search; expired and suspended licences are not listed there. No email is published. A county search returns the licences NSCB lists under that county, which leaves out most out-of-state firms — search statewide to include them. The search filters by classification family, and the classifications column may show only the classes in the family searched. Phone numbers are passed through in NSCB's own format. A statewide search with every classification is one 52 MB page and takes about five minutes. If NSCB does not answer, the run returns a free row saying so instead of an empty dataset.

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

From the Nevada State Contractors Board's public Contractor Listing Search at app.nvcontractorsboard.com, filtered by its own county and classification lists.

Does it return email addresses?

No. NSCB's listing does not publish email, so no row carries one. You get business name, phone, street address, licence number, classifications, monetary limit and expiry.

How many contractors does a search return?

Counted on the live search 2026-10-06, active licences: Clark County C-2 Electrical 855, Clark C-15 Roofing and Siding 114, Washoe C-2 253, Washoe C-15 68, Douglas C-2 52. Clark County with every classification is 7,427; all of Nevada is 19,156.

Why are some out-of-state firms missing from my county search?

31% of the statewide list have an out-of-state address (2026-10-06), and most of them come back only when you search all of Nevada, not under a county. Some do appear under a county: 2 of the 52 Douglas County electricians have an out-of-state address. Leave the county empty to include everyone.

How do I name a classification?

By code ('C-2', 'C02', 'B', 'AB'), by name ('Electrical', 'Roofing and Siding'), or by a word from the name ('roofing' finds C-15). The search filters on NSCB's 41 classification families; a sub-class such as A-12 is found through its family (A). Turn on Discovery Mode to get all 41 with their codes, free.

Does the classifications column list everything a firm holds?

Not always. NSCB may show only the classes within the family you searched, so treat the column as what that search matched, not as the firm's complete licence.

Does it include expired or suspended licences?

No. NSCB's Contractor Listing Search lists active licences only, so every row has status Active.

How am I charged?

One event per contractor returned ($0.002). A licence that matches two of your searches is returned and charged once. The county and classification lists, and any row explaining a source problem, are free.

Which actor to choose

Part of the contractor-data suite — pick the one that fits your goal:

  • California Contractor Directory by Trade & County (CSLB) — You need the same trade-by-county contractor list for California.
  • Arkansas Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (ACLB) — You need the same county-and-trade directory for Arkansas, with email.
  • Oregon Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (CCB) — You need the same county-level directory for Oregon.
  • Texas Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (TDLR) — You need a county-scoped roster of Texas TDLR-licensed contractors.
  • Utah Contractor Directory & Leads Scraper (DOPL) — You need contractors in a Utah county or city, with phone and email, from DOPL's opt-in Construction Business Registry.

Works with AI assistants (MCP)

Callable as an MCP tool, so Claude, Cursor, VS Code Copilot and other MCP clients can run it directly. Grab the config from the MCP tab on this page — Apify hosts the server and keeps that snippet current, and OAuth signs you in on first connect, so no API token goes in your config file.

Then just ask:

"List the licensed C-2 electrical contractors in Douglas County, Nevada, with their phone numbers and addresses."

Each row also carries the contractor's NSCB monetary limit, which tells you how large a job the board lets them take. Runs started this way bill exactly like any other run.
