Pain points

  • The NM CID public search (PSI Exams) answers one search at a time, behind a CAPTCHA, and stops at 300 results.
  • There is no statewide download, so a list of every active contractor in a city has to be stitched together search by search.
  • Cancelled and revoked licences sit next to active ones, and the portal has no filter for licences expiring soon.

What we solve

  • The whole NM CID contractor registry in one run: 61,240 licences, every status, as of the latest monthly sweep.
  • Filter by status, city, ZIP prefix, expiry window, business name (contains) or exact licence number, or take the statewide list.
  • The run log states the date of the sweep the data came from, so you know exactly how fresh it is.

Summary

Every contractor licence the New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) publishes, as one filterable dataset. We sweep the official PSI Exams registry once a month, every licence in every status, and a run filters that copy in seconds: all 15,616 Active licences, the 3,754 Active ones in Albuquerque, the licences expiring in the next 90 days, or a batch of licence numbers to verify. Each row has the licence number, status, business name, street address, city, ZIP and expiry date.

Who it's for

  • Suppliers, insurers and lenders building New Mexico contractor lists by city or ZIP
  • GCs and hiring managers vetting New Mexico subcontractors
  • Compliance teams and marketplaces verifying NM CID licences in bulk
  • Renewal and outreach teams tracking licences that expire soon

How to use

This actor does two jobs. Run it, then collect results from the run's dataset (export to JSON/CSV/Excel, or pull via the Apify API).

Get a list (export): no names, just filters; returns the whole matching list.

{
"statuses": [
"Active"
],
"city": "Albuquerque",
"maxResults": 500
}

Check specific firms (lookup): put company names or licence numbers in businessNames, licenseNumbers; Inputs below says how each is matched.

{
"businessNames": [
"ADAMS & SMITH"
],
"licenseNumbers": [
"396966"
],
"maxResults": 5
}

See Inputs below for every available field.

Inputs

FieldRequiredTypeDefaultDescription
statusesnoarray["Active"]Only return licences with one of these statuses, as NM CID writes them (e.g. 'Active', 'Cancelled', 'Inactive', 'Revoked'). Leave empty for every status.
citynostring"Albuquerque"Only return licences whose business city is this city (e.g. 'Albuquerque'). Leave blank for the whole state.
zipCodenostring—Only return licences whose business ZIP starts with this (e.g. '871' or '87110').
expiresAfternostring—Only return licences expiring on or after this date (YYYY-MM-DD).
expiresBeforenostring—Only return licences expiring on or before this date (YYYY-MM-DD) — e.g. renewals coming up in the next 90 days.
businessNamenostring—Only return licences whose business name contains this text (e.g. 'Smith'). Leave blank for a statewide export.
businessNamesnoarray[]Look up many in ONE run instead of starting a run per lookup. Takes the same values as 'Business name'. Combined with 'Business name' if you fill both, and duplicates are removed. Billing is unchanged: you are charged per record returned, not per entry submitted.
licenseNumbernostring—Exact NM CID contractor license number. When set, returns that specific license.
licenseNumbersnoarray[]Look up many in ONE run instead of starting a run per lookup. Takes the same values as 'License number'. Combined with 'License number' if you fill both, and duplicates are removed. Billing is unchanged: you are charged per record returned, not per entry submitted.
maxResultsnointeger100Cap on the number of records returned. With no business name or licence number this caps the statewide export; in a batch it applies PER ENTRY, so one entry cannot use up the others' share.

Pricing (Pay Per Event)

You pay per result (license-match) — no charge for empty runs. Example: 1000 license records at $0.004/result ≈ $4.00.

$0.004 per licence from 2026-11-10; until then each licence is $0.01. Apify platform usage (compute) is billed separately per your plan.

Use cases

  • List building — every Active contractor in a city or ZIP range, with street address, in one run.
  • Bulk verification — check a batch of licence numbers for status and expiry in one run.
  • Renewal outreach — licences expiring between two dates, by status and city.
  • Due diligence — find cancelled, revoked or suspended licences under a business name.

Why this actor

  • The whole registry, every status: 61,240 licences in the 2026-10-23 sweep (15,616 Active, 44,422 Cancelled, 810 Revoked, 260 Suspended).
  • Filters the portal does not have: status, ZIP prefix, and an expiry-date window.
  • Up to 100,000 rows per run, charged per row; batch business names or licence numbers in one run.
  • The run log states the sweep date, and the run says so plainly if the snapshot is ever missing or stale.

Limitations & updates

Covers the New Mexico CID contractor registry only (the 'Contractor' company licences on public.psiexams.com, not RLD's Boards and Commissions Division or individual journeyman licences). Data is as of the latest monthly sweep, not live: a licence that changed status this week shows its status at the sweep date, which the run log states. The registry lists the business address, which is out of state for some contractors licensed in New Mexico (El Paso is the fifth most common city among Active licences). Phone, email, county, bond and insurance are not in the source's search results and are returned null. There is no per-record deep link, so source_url points to the search portal.

FAQ

Where does the data come from?

The official New Mexico Construction Industries Division (CID) public contractor registry at public.psiexams.com. We sweep it once a month, every licence in every status, and runs read that copy.

How current is it?

As of the latest monthly sweep. The run log states the sweep date. If the copy is ever more than 45 days old, the run returns one free notice row instead of old data.

What can I filter by?

Status, city (exact), ZIP (prefix, e.g. '871'), expiry date on or after / on or before, business name (contains) and licence number (exact). Business names and licence numbers also take a batch list. Leave the name and number blank for a statewide export.

What fields do I get?

Licence number, status, business name, street address, city, ZIP code and expiry date. NM CID's search does not publish phone, email, county or bond details, so those are null.

How am I charged?

Per licence returned. A run that matches nothing, or a free notice row, costs nothing.

Is this personal data?

It is public professional-licence data, as NM CID publishes it; we add no personal enrichment.

Ready-made n8n templates that call this actor:

Works with AI assistants (MCP)

Callable as an MCP tool, so Claude, Cursor, VS Code Copilot and other MCP clients can run it directly. Grab the config from the MCP tab on this page — Apify hosts the server and keeps that snippet current, and OAuth signs you in on first connect, so no API token goes in your config file.

Then just ask:

"List Active New Mexico contractors in Albuquerque."

A statewide run with no filters returns up to maxResults rows (default 500), so set a city, ZIP or status to keep agent-driven runs small. Runs started this way bill exactly like any other run.

Data & lawful use

This actor collects publicly available information that the New Mexico Construction Industries Division publishes for public lookup — licence records, business listings and the contact details professionals list there. Some of it identifies individuals (sole proprietors, licence holders, agents), so treat any names, phone numbers and emails in your results as personal data.

When you run this actor, you decide what is collected and what it is used for, so you are the controller of that data and we act only as your processor (Apify Standard Actor Contract). You need a lawful basis for your use, must honour opt-out and deletion requests, and must follow the marketing rules that apply to you (CAN-SPAM, TCPA, GDPR, CCPA and similar). Don't use the output for unsolicited bulk messaging, for screening covered by the FCRA, or for anything the source's own terms forbid.

Your results are stored in your own Apify account. We don't keep a copy of your results and don't sell or share them.
