Thumbtack Scraper — Home Service Pros by City

Scrape Thumbtack's curated top pros for any home-service category in any US city — as a clean, structured lead list. For each pro you get the business name, rating, review count, review qualifier, number of hires, Top Pro badge, service area, response time, a highlighted review, an AI "Why this pro?" summary, and the profile link.

Input

Target pages in either (or both) of two ways:

• startUrls — full Thumbtack front-door URLs, e.g. https://www.thumbtack.com/ga/atlanta/handyman, https://www.thumbtack.com/tx/dallas/plumbers. The URL format is /{state}/{city-slug}/{category-slug}. This is the most precise option.
• cities × categories — a list of cities as "City, ST" (e.g. "Atlanta, GA") combined with a list of Thumbtack category slugs (e.g. handyman, plumbers, electricians, house-cleaning, landscaping, painters, movers, roofing, hvac, pest-control, lawn-care). Every city is combined with every category.

Other options: maxResults (0 = no cap), requestConcurrency (1–10), proxyConfiguration.

Output

One row per pro (deduped by Thumbtack servicePk): businessName, averageRating, numReviews, reviewQualifier, numHires, hiresText, badge, serviceArea, responseTimeHours, urgencyPills, highlightedReview, whyThisPro, profileUrl, avatarUrl, plus the category / city / stateCode / zipCode context and scraped_at.

Scope & limits (please read)

• This reads the server-rendered category+city front-door landing page, which surfaces a curated top-pros preview (typically 4–10 businesses) for that category + city — not the full paginated directory. The full directory lives behind Thumbtack's client-only /instant-results/ search app.
• No contact info. Thumbtack does not expose pro phone, email or website on this surface — contact is gated behind its paid quote flow. This is a ratings / reviews / directory lead list, not a contact-enriched one.
• Proxy: Thumbtack answers datacenter IPs with a JS/proof-of-work interstitial, so the actor defaults to (and needs) US residential proxy.

This actor scrapes publicly visible Thumbtack pages. You are responsible for complying with Thumbtack's Terms of Service and applicable law. Any personal data in the output is your responsibility to handle lawfully (e.g. GDPR/CCPA).
