Resolve DOIs in bulk or search 180M+ scholarly works (journal articles, books, chapters, proceedings, preprints, datasets) via the official Crossref REST API. No scraping, key, login or proxy.
Use cases
- Reference cleanup: turn a list of DOIs into full citations (authors, journal, volume, pages, year).
- Literature reviews & research ops: search by title/keywords, author or affiliation, filter by date, type or journal, sort by citation count.
- Publisher / journal monitoring: list a journal's newest works by ISSN.
- Retraction checks:
isRetractedOrUpdatedflags works with Crossref update notices (retractions, corrections). - Bibliometrics & sales intel: citation counts, funders, ORCIDs and affiliations.
Input
{ "dois": ["10.1038/nature14539"], "queries": ["CRISPR base editing"], "fromPubDate": "2023", "sort": "is-referenced-by-count", "maxPerQuery": 50 }
Output (one row per work)
doi, title, authors, authorOrcids, containerTitle, publisher, published, volume, issue, page, issn, citedByCount, referenceCount, funders, licenses, isRetractedOrUpdated, updates, url. Unknown DOIs / empty searches return found: false and are not charged.
Tip: sort: relevance (default) gives the best matches. Sorting by citation count or date ranks every loosely matching work, so use specific queries or filters with it.
Abstracts are intentionally not exported (they remain the copyright of publishers/authors); hasAbstract tells you whether one exists.
Pricing
Pay per result (per work returned).
