What does HouseSigma Scraper do?
HouseSigma Scraper collects property listings from HouseSigma, a Canadian real estate portal known for sold data, listing history, and neighborhood statistics. Give it a HouseSigma page such as the newly listed feed or a Toronto map page, and it saves each property as one record in an Apify dataset. Every record includes the address, price, MLS number, property type, bedroom and bathroom counts, coordinates, listing status, a direct link to the property page, and the full photo gallery.
Filters let you narrow a run without editing the URL: choose a city, a price range, minimum bedrooms or bathrooms, and the sort order. The Actor reads the province, city, and status from the start URL, then applies the filters to a city or province search.
Why use HouseSigma Scraper?
- Structured listing data - One record per property instead of a folder of saved pages.
- Filtered city searches - Collect Toronto condos between 500,000 and 700,000 with at least two bedrooms in a single run.
- Feed and city coverage - Follow Newly Listed, Just Sold, or another feed, or work through a whole city.
- Sold comparables - Collect recently sold properties for valuation research when the source shows them.
- Galleries included - Every record carries the listing photo gallery, so image work needs no second pass.
- Scheduled refreshes - Run the Actor daily or weekly to keep a current snapshot of a market.
- Export in one click - Download the dataset as JSON, CSV, Excel, or XML, or read it through the Apify API.
- Clear flags for hidden fields - Mark records that HouseSigma restricts for anonymous visitors instead of filling them with placeholder text.

How to use HouseSigma Scraper
- Open the Actor in Apify Console.
- Leave the default start URL or paste the HouseSigma page you want.
- Add a location, price range, bedroom or bathroom minimum, and sort order when you need a narrower set.
- Set how many listings you need and a page cap.
- Start the run and open the dataset when it finishes.
- Download the dataset or connect it to a schedule, webhook, or spreadsheet.
The default run collects 20 newly listed properties with their galleries. That usually takes a few seconds and is enough to check field quality before a larger run.
Input Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|
startUrl | String | No | https://housesigma.com/on/listings/newly-listed/ | HouseSigma feed page, city map page, or city sold page |
location | String | No | - | City to search, for example Toronto or Toronto, BC. A province code such as ON searches the whole province |
price_min | Integer | No | - | Lowest asking price to include |
price_max | Integer | No | - | Highest asking price to include |
bedrooms_min | Integer | No | - | Lowest bedroom count. 3 keeps three bedroom and larger properties |
bathrooms_min | Integer | No | - | Lowest bathroom count |
sort_by | String | No | newest | newest, price_asc, or price_desc |
results_wanted | Integer | No | 20 | Maximum number of listings to save |
max_pages | Integer | No | 20 | Page cap shared across the selected search |
proxyConfiguration | Object | No | { "useApifyProxy": false } | Optional proxy settings |
How the search mode is chosen:
- No location and no filters: the Actor follows the start URL feed or city.
- Location supplied: the Actor searches that city and ignores the city in the start URL. The province comes from the location when written as
Toronto, BC, otherwise from the URL. - Filters or a non-default sort supplied without a location: the Actor searches the city in the start URL, or the whole province when the URL is a feed page.
- Recommendation feeds do not accept filters on the source site, so a filtered run switches to a city or province search to keep the filters accurate.
Supported URL shapes:
- Recommendation feed:
https://housesigma.com/on/listings/newly-listed/ - Another feed:
https://housesigma.com/on/listings/just-sold/ - City for sale:
https://housesigma.com/on/toronto-real-estate/map/ - City sold:
https://housesigma.com/on/toronto-real-estate/sold/map/ - Province map:
https://housesigma.com/bc/map/ - Other provinces: replace
onwithbc,ab,qc,mb,sk,ns,nb,nl, orpe

Tips for Best Results
- Start with
results_wantedat 20 and confirm the fields you need before a large run. - Use
locationwhen you want a city other than the one in the start URL. It is the fastest way to reuse one task for several markets. - Keep
price_minat or belowprice_max. The Actor stops with a clear error when the range is inverted. - Filter runs use city or province search, which returns about 20 listings per page. Feed pages return about 10. Divide
results_wantedby that number to estimatemax_pages. - Galleries add one request per listing and are always collected. Expect runs to take longer when you ask for many hundreds of records.
- If many records show
dataRestricted, that is the site's visibility rule for anonymous visitors, not a failed run. - Run large collections on a schedule with a modest page cap instead of one very large run.
Integrations
- Google Sheets - Build a live market tracker from dataset rows.
- Webhooks - Send new listings to your CRM or alerting service after each run.
- Make or Zapier - Turn new records into tasks, messages, or documents.
- Apify API - Read datasets from your own application or data warehouse.
- BI tools - Import CSV or Excel exports into Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do the filters work on a recommendation feed URL?
The site's recommendation feeds do not accept filters. When you set location or any filter, the Actor switches to a city or province search so the returned listings respect your limits.
How do location and startUrl work together?
location wins. The province comes from the location string when you write Toronto, BC; otherwise it comes from the start URL. Leave location empty to use the city in the URL.
Why are some fields missing from a record?
HouseSigma hides address, price, MLS number, and property type for some listings until a visitor signs in. Those records are still saved with their identifier, location, photo, gallery, and status, and they carry dataRestricted: true. The Actor does not fill hidden values with guesses.
Does every record include gallery images?
Yes. The Actor requests the gallery for every listing and fills galleryImages and galleryImageCount when the source returns images. A record with no gallery keeps the main photoUrl.
How many listings can one run collect?
There is no fixed number, but the page cap controls the real limit. A recommendation feed returns about 10 listings per page, and a city or province search returns about 20. Raise max_pages when you need more than that.
Does the Actor collect sold prices?
It collects sold listings when the source shows them. Sold records are more likely to be restricted for anonymous visitors, so expect dataRestricted on a portion of them.
Can I export the data to CSV or Excel?
Yes. Every Apify dataset can be downloaded as CSV, Excel, JSON, or XML, and the Apify API returns the same records in JSON.
Can I run this Actor on a schedule?
Yes. Create a schedule in Apify Console and pick the interval you need. Daily runs are common for new listings, and weekly runs suit sold comparables.
Does the Actor need a proxy?
No. HouseSigma answered all tested requests without a proxy. The proxy field is available when you want to route traffic through Apify Proxy or your own proxy URLs.
What happens when a search returns nothing?
The run fails and names the reason, such as no listings matching the filters. Widen the price range, remove a bedroom minimum, or point the Actor at another city and run again.
Is it legal to collect HouseSigma data?
Collecting publicly available real estate data can be legal, but rules differ by region and by site. Review HouseSigma's terms and your local regulations before collecting, and use the data for legitimate research or business purposes.
Support
For bugs, field requests, or help with a specific URL, open an issue on the Actor page in Apify Console. Include the start URL, the filter values, the run ID, and one sample record so the problem is reproducible.
