No login or API key required.

Performance & limits

  • Speed: about 20–30 seconds for 5 cities; all 8 rankings (~2,900 rows) in under 30 seconds; a single top-10 ranking in under 10 seconds; one item in ~100 countries in about 7 seconds; 6 items in about 15 seconds; a historical regional ranking in 10–20 seconds
  • Items per city: ~55 price items (+1 summary row if enabled)
  • Reliability: cities are retried automatically until the page loads; a city name Numbeo does not recognise is matched to Numbeo's own spelling when possible (accents, City, Country) and reported clearly in the log when it cannot be found
  • No browser required: lightweight, low memory, low cost
  • Agent-ready: Compatible with x402 micropayment protocol for autonomous agent use

Pricing

This actor uses Pay Per Event (PPE) pricing: $0.002 per result (each price item, summary row or ranking row is one result).

FAQ

What city name format should I use? The plain city name usually works (New York, Paris, Tokyo). Accents (São Paulo) and the City, Country format (Sao Paulo, Brazil) are matched to Numbeo's own spelling automatically. Misspelled names cannot be guessed and are reported in the log.

Can I get data in my local currency? Yes. Set currency to any code Numbeo supports: USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CLP, BRL, ARS, etc. Indices and rankings are relative scores and do not depend on currency.

What's the difference between price, priceMin, and priceMax? price is the typical value reported by Numbeo users. priceMin and priceMax are the range boundaries of the crowd-sourced data — useful for best/worst-case budgets.

How fresh is the data? Each price row carries sourceUpdatedAt, the date Numbeo last updated that city, and rankings carry rankingTitle (e.g. Current Quality of Life Index).

Does it require login or API keys? No. Everything comes from Numbeo's public pages.

Changelog

  • v1.2 (2026-10-27) — Prices by country, one item across every city or country, and historical and regional rankings. New mode Prices by country (~55 prices per country, optional summary with monthly costs and indices). New mode One item in every city or country — e.g. a cappuccino in ~590 cities or ~100 countries, with flexible item names. Rankings can now be limited to a region (Europe, South America, Asia…) and pulled for any past edition back to 2009; ranking rows include period and region. Existing inputs return exactly the same data as before.
  • v1.1 (2026-10-26) — City summary, complete rankings, smarter city names and steadier runs. Optional summary row per city with monthly costs for a family of four and a single person (excluding rent), comparison with New York, and cost-of-living, quality-of-life, safety and crime indices. New Rankings mode with 8 complete tables: cost of living, quality of life, crime, health care, pollution, traffic, property investment and cost of living by country. City names with accents or in City, Country form are now matched automatically, and names that cannot be found are reported instead of silently returning nothing. Fewer cities missing on busy days. Existing inputs return exactly the same fields as before; nothing new is added or charged unless you turn it on.
  • v1.0.x (2026-10-05) — Every row now carries its real category (previously "General"), cities no longer come back empty on busy days, and the new sourceUpdatedAt field shows when Numbeo last updated each city.
  • v1.0 — Prices by city with country, priceMin/priceMax ranges, PPE pricing.
