❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need a Daft account or an API key? A: No. Give it an area and press Start.

Q: How many properties can I get? A: FREE tier: 25 per run. PAID tier: unlimited. There is no pagination ceiling, so a whole section of the Irish market is reachable in a single run.

Q: Can I get sold prices? A: No. Daft publishes live ads only. The nearest signal is the "Sale agreed" availability filter, which shows what has gone under offer. Ireland's actual sold prices live in the Residential Property Price Register, which is a separate source.

Q: Where does the Eircode come from? A: The property's own page, so it needs the "Add descriptions, Eircodes & lease terms" option switched on. Search rows carry the full address and GPS coordinates but not the Eircode.

Q: How do I find an area slug? A: It is the part of a Daft URL after the section, so daft.ie/property-for-sale/galway-city is galway-city. County-wide slugs are the bare county name, like cork or kerry. You can also paste the whole search URL into the Daft search URLs field.

Q: Does it cover Northern Ireland? A: It covers the Northern Ireland ads that Daft itself carries. Daft is a Republic of Ireland portal, so NI coverage is much thinner than for the south.

🐛 Troubleshooting

"No properties matched in [area]"

• The filters are too narrow. Drop the BER minimum or widen the price band.
• Check the section: a 4-bed filter on the sharing section will rarely match anything.

An area was skipped as unknown

• Use the slug exactly as Daft writes it in its own URL, e.g. dun-laoghaire rather than "Dún Laoghaire".
• For a county, use the bare name: cork, not county-cork.
• If in doubt, paste the whole Daft search URL into the Daft search URLs field instead.

Rentals came back without a lease term or furnishing

• Those live on the property's own page. Switch on "Add descriptions, Eircodes & lease terms".

Fewer rows than I asked for

• The area genuinely has fewer live ads than your limit. The run log prints the total that matched before it starts paging.
• On the FREE tier every run stops at 25 rows.

A run says "please retry in a few minutes"

• Daft occasionally declines a burst of requests. The Actor already retries with a backoff; if a run still ends short, start it again shortly afterwards.
