All notable changes to the MLB Stats Scraper are documented here.
First release.
Pulls six MLB datasets from Major League Baseball's public statistics service: game schedules and
scores, division standings, all 30 clubs, team rosters, season leaders and per-player box score
lines. No API key, no account, no quota.
- Six datasets, priced separately. Each operation charges its own event, so pulling 30
standings rows is not billed at box-score rates.
- Official figures, unchanged. Win percentage comes through as
.599 and the division
leader's games back as -, exactly as the league publishes them. Nothing is reformatted behind
your back, so your numbers agree with the official ones.
- Empty means empty. A pitcher who never batted has no batting stats rather than zeros — the
actor will not invent plate appearances that did not happen.
- Joins without name matching. Player and team IDs are identical across all six datasets, so
a roster row, a leader row and a box score line link on an ID.
- Historical seasons on the same routes. Change the season and pull 2019 exactly as you pull
this year, with the same output shape.
- No games is not an error. Out of season the schedule returns an empty result and says so,
instead of reporting a failure you would have to investigate.
- Daily scores feeds for a site, newsletter or bot.
- Standings tracking over a season, with streaks and run differential.
- Fantasy and betting models fed from leaders and box score lines.
- Roster and transaction monitoring for a club.
- Journalism and research across historical seasons.
Live pitch-by-pitch feeds and Statcast tracking data are not part of the public statistics service
and are outside this actor's scope.
