❓ FAQ

Q: Do I need a Pinterest account or API key? A: No. Just supply a keyword or URL and run — no login, no API key, no code.

Q: What's the difference between Overview and Detail? A: Overview is the fast, cheap scan (image, link, board, pinner). Detail adds the engagement numbers — saves, repins, comments, shares, hashtags and the long-form note — at a higher per-pin price.

Q: Why can't Detail enrich pins from a search, and why is url empty on search pins? A: In October 2026 Pinterest started hiding real pin IDs from logged-out search. Search results still come back with images, links, boards and pinners, but each pin carries a placeholder ID that no pin page or detail lookup accepts. So search rows have url: null rather than a link that goes nowhere, and Detail takes pin URLs or IDs you paste. Need engagement stats for an account's pins? Run User Profile mode with Include Created Pins (those rows keep real pin URLs), then feed the URLs to Detail.

Q: How does User Profile mode charge? A: One profile result per account found, plus the overview pin price for each created pin you ask for. Boards come inside the profile row at no extra cost. A username that doesn't exist returns a "found": false row and isn't charged.

Q: What do the Boards and Users scopes return? A: Boards gives one row per matching board: name, URL, pin count, cover image and owner. Users gives one row per matching account: username, name, followers, pin and board counts, verified badge. Each row bills at the overview price. For an account's bio, website and monthly views, run User Profile mode on the usernames you found.

Q: Can I paste a Pinterest search URL with filters? A: Yes. In bySearchUrl mode, faceted filters in the URL (color, price band, domain) carry through.

Q: Is this legal? A: We only extract publicly available data. See the legal note below.

🐛 Troubleshooting

No results returned

• Check the query spelling, or that the pasted URL is a valid pinterest.com/search/... link.
• Very niche queries may return few pins — try a broader keyword or raise Max Search Pages.

A profile came back with "found": false

• The account doesn't exist or was renamed. Check the handle in the address bar of the profile page.

Engagement fields are empty

• Saves, repins, comments and hashtags are filled in Detail mode only — Overview omits them by design.

Our actors are ethical and do not extract any private user data, such as email addresses, gender, or location. They only extract what the user has chosen to share publicly. We therefore believe that our actors, when used for ethical purposes by Apify users, are safe.
