Get the official European Central Bank euro reference rates as clean rows, ready for spreadsheets, reports and automations.

This information can be obtained free of charge from the European Central Bank. You pay for the convenience of this tool, not for the data. Every row names the ECB as its source and repeats this notice.

What you get

  • The latest published rates, or a date range back to 1999
  • Any published currency as your base, with cross rates calculated from the ECB rates
  • One row per date and currency pair

Rates appear on TARGET working days, usually around 16:00 Central European Time. The ECB publishes about 30 major currencies. Some, such as the Ugandan shilling, are not included.

Good to know

ECB reference rates are for information only. Do not use them for transactions. Cross rates are calculated from ECB euro rates and are not published by the ECB. If no rate matches your request, the run fails with a clear message.
