Pull company ratings and anonymous employee reviews from InHerSight at scale — overall scores, 16 rating categories rated by women employees, five grouped score dimensions, monthly award badges, industry and size rankings, and full written review text with satisfaction scores. Built for DEI and people-analytics teams, employer-brand agencies, and talent-market researchers who need women's workplace-experience data as a clean structured dataset instead of clicking through hundreds of company profiles one at a time.
Why This Scraper?
- 16 rating categories rated by women employees — Salary Satisfaction, Paid Time Off, Flexible Work Hours, Ability to Telecommute, Maternity and Adoptive Leave, Family Support, Wellness Initiatives, Learning Opportunities, Sponsorship and Mentorship, Management Opportunities for Women, Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, Female Representation in Leadership, Sense of Belonging, Company Culture, The People You Work With, and Employer Responsiveness — each with an average score, a weighted score, and submission counts.
- Five grouped score dimensions plus a score trend — Opportunity, Schedule & Flexibility, Enrichment, Family, and Culture roll the 16 categories into comparable indices, and every company carries an
increasing/decreasingtrend flag on its headline score. - Full anonymous review text, not just star counts — each review ships as its own row with the written comment, a satisfaction score and label ("Very satisfied"), the reviewer's job level, reply count, and the date it was posted. Walmart alone has 866 reviews on file.
- Deep, duplicate-free review pagination — verified pulling 250 unique reviews from a single company in three passes with zero repeats and zero gaps, and
maxReviewsPerCompany: 0collects every review a company has (up to 1,000). - Awards and per-category rankings — Microsoft returned 2 award badges and 54 ranking rows in testing: each rating category ranked separately within its industry group, its narrow industry, and its company-size band, with rank and total ("#55 of 178").
- Five multiple-choice survey polls per company, with the vote split — "Do the dads and non-birth parents here have access to sufficient parental leave?" comes back with each answer option, its vote count, and its share of respondents (68% yes / 6% no / 26% don't know), so you get percentages rather than prose.
- Roughly 185 curated Best Companies lists as a discovery surface — browse 16 industry groups, 16 rating categories, 43 US states, 99 US cities, and 3 company-size bands, or paste any of the 114 narrower industry list URLs directly.
- Rating threshold applied before any company is opened — about 95% of InHerSight's 77,320-company directory is unrated shells, so
minRatingscreens them out on the listing entry and you never pay to collect an empty profile. - Fast enough for interactive work — one company's complete 866-review history comes back in about 20 seconds, and a default run (20 companies plus 168 reviews) finishes in well under a minute.

What to Scrape
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
startUrls | array | [] | InHerSight URLs. Accepts company profiles (/company/microsoft/ratings) and Best Companies lists (/companies/best, /companies/best/industry/computer-software, /companies/best/state/massachusetts-us, /companies/best/city/boston-ma, /companies/best/size/large, /companies/best/reviews/paid-time-off). List URLs expand into the companies they rank. |
searchTerms | array | [] | Company names or keywords such as Salesforce, hospital, or credit union. Each term is searched separately and returns up to 50 matching companies. |
Browse Best Companies
The overall Best Companies list publishes 50 employers; every other list publishes 20. These are InHerSight's own ranking lengths, so a single selection cannot return more than that no matter how high maxResults is set — the run log says so when a list hits its ceiling.
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
industries | array | [] | One or more of 16 industry groups: Art, Construction, Consumer Goods, Corporate, Education, Finance, Government, Health, Legal, Manufacturing, Media, Organization, Recreation, Service, Technology, Transportation. For one of the 114 narrower industries, paste that list URL into startUrls. Each of these lists is published as a top-20 ranking, so one selection returns at most 20 companies — combine several to collect more. |
reviewCategories | array | [] | Scrape the Best Companies list for any of the 16 rating categories — for example maternity_leave, paid_time_off, salary, telecommute, leadership_diversity, wellness_benefits. Each of these lists is published as a top-20 ranking, so one selection returns at most 20 companies — combine several to collect more. |
companySizes | array | [] | small, medium, or large. Each of these lists is published as a top-20 ranking, so one selection returns at most 20 companies — combine several to collect more. |
locations | array | [] | US cities or states, written naturally: Boston, MA, Chicago, MA, or Massachusetts. InHerSight publishes lists for 99 cities and 43 states; unmatched entries are skipped and named in the run log. Each of these lists is published as a top-20 ranking, so one selection returns at most 20 companies — combine several to collect more. |
Filters & Company Detail
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
minRating | string | "any" | Minimum overall InHerSight score: Any company (including unrated), Rated companies only, 3.0 and above, 3.5 and above, 4.0 and above, or 4.5 and above. Checked on the listing entry first, so filtered-out companies cost you nothing. Companies you name in startUrls are always collected. |
includeRatingBreakdown | boolean | true | Adds the 16 rating categories plus the five grouped scores and the score trend to every company. |
includeAwards | boolean | false | Adds monthly award badges — including state and city Best Companies placements — plus each company's rank within its broad industry group, its narrow industry, and its company-size band. |
includeSurveyQuestions | boolean | false | Adds the multiple-choice survey polls answered by women who worked at the company, each with every answer option, its vote count, and the share of respondents who chose it. |
Employee Reviews
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
includeReviews | boolean | true | Adds anonymous written reviews from women who worked at the company. Each review is returned as its own row. Turning it off also leaves reviewCount blank, since that total comes from the reviews themselves. |
maxReviewsPerCompany | integer | 10 | Reviews per company, newest first. Set to 0 for every available review — a safety limit of 1,000 per company still applies. Ignored when reviews are off. |
Limits
| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
maxResults | integer | 20 | Maximum number of companies across everything you asked for. Review rows are returned on top of this number. Set to 0 for no limit — a safety limit of 50,000 companies still applies. |
Output
Every row carries a recordType field so you can split companies from reviews in one pass.

Tips for Best Results
- Set
minRatingto"rated"or higher before any broad browse. Roughly 95% of InHerSight's 77,320-company directory has no score at all, and the filter runs before a company is opened — so it protects your result count as well as your bill. - Read
listRankagainstsourceList, not globally. A rating-category list such as Paid Time Off ranks companies by that single category, so alistRankof 1 there means "best for PTO", not "best overall". - Compare
averageScoreandweightedAverageScoreside by side. InHerSight weights recent and higher-confidence ratings differently, and a wide gap between the two on a category is the clearest signal that a company's experience has changed recently. - Keep
maxReviewsPerCompanyat 10–50 for exploration, and only set0on a shortlist. Review counts have a long tail — most rated employers have 5 to 35, but Walmart has 866 and Starbucks 418. - Use
reviewCategoriesto build targeted employer shortlists. Selectingmaternity_leaveortelecommutereturns a genuinely different company set thansalary— in testing, two category lists overlapped by only one company out of six. - Reach narrow industries through
startUrls. Theindustriesfield covers 16 broad groups; the other 98 industry lists (Computer Software, Hospital & Health Care, and so on) are one pasted list URL away. - Reach for
includeSurveyQuestionswhen you need a number, not a narrative. The polls return a clean percentage split per answer option, which charts far better than review text — and unlike the rating categories, they cover concrete policy questions such as non-birth-parent leave and extended-family caregiving. - Turn
includeAwardson only for companies you care about. Large employers return dozens of ranking rows each — Microsoft returned 54 — which is excellent for a competitive teardown and noise for a broad sweep.
Pricing
From $1.70 per 1,000 results — flat pay-per-result with no compute or time-based charges. Bronze, Silver, and Gold subscribers pay progressively less; the table below shows the total cost at each discount tier.
| Results | No discount | Bronze | Silver | Gold |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | $0.20 | $0.19 | $0.18 | $0.17 |
| 1,000 | $2.00 | $1.90 | $1.80 | $1.70 |
| 10,000 | $20.00 | $19.00 | $18.00 | $17.00 |
| 100,000 | $200.00 | $190.00 | $180.00 | $170.00 |
What counts as a result: every row in the dataset, of either type. A company profile is one result, and each employee review is also one result — so a company collected with 20 reviews returns 21 results: 1 company row plus 20 review rows. With the default settings (20 companies, 10 reviews each) a run costs about 220 results.
To control spend, lower maxReviewsPerCompany, or set includeReviews to false to bill company rows only. minRating also helps, because companies filtered out on the listing entry are never collected and never billed. No compute or time-based charges — you pay per result, plus a small fixed per-run start fee. Platform fees (storage, data transfer) depend on your Apify plan.
