How to use

1. Add your URLs and pick a monitorName.
2. The first run stores a baseline (status: "baseline").
3. Schedule the actor (hourly, daily...). Every later run returns status: "changed" or "unchanged" per page.
4. Alert on changes: Apify integrations (Slack, email, webhook) or filter the dataset on status = changed.

What changed, in one line

Every changed page gets a summary such as $29 -> $39 (+34.5%); 10 seats -> 5 seats (-50.0%); watch words: per month; 1 line(s) added, 1 removed.

• numberChanges: each number that changed on a line, paired with its old value: prices (1.299,00 €, $39, 12 euro), percentages, plan limits (10 seats, 5 GB, 1,000 requests), opening times (9:00 -> 10:00) and years. Money and quantities include the percentage change.
• keywordHits: added or removed lines that mention a watch word. The built-in list covers price, fee, refund, cancel, terms, privacy, limit, discontinued and more; set watchKeywords to use your own.
• significance: high (a price, a percentage or a watch word changed), medium (another number changed), low (wording only).
• onlySignificantChanges: report wording-only edits as unchanged (with minorChangeIgnored: true) so your alerts fire only when something you'd act on changed.

This works on any page, including pricing tables with several plans, without CSS selectors.

Fewer false alerts

• Main-content mode ignores navigation, footers, cookie banners and sidebars.
• Ignore patterns strip dates, counters or rotating text before comparing.
• minChangedChars suppresses tiny edits.

Output

url, status (baseline/changed/unchanged), significance, summary, numberChanges[], keywordHits[], minorChangeIgnored, added[], removed[], addedCount, removedCount, changedChars, changeRatio, textHash, previousCheckAt, checkedAt.

Limits

• It reads the HTML the server sends (no browser), so text, links or markup added later by JavaScript are not seen.
• It compares text, not layout or images, so a changed picture or colour is not reported.
• The first run of a monitor is a baseline; changes are reported from the second run on.
• Pages that change on every load (rotating text, counters) need ignore patterns, or every run will show a change.

Responsible use

We follow robots.txt (RFC 9309), fetch each page once per run at about one request per second per site, use an honest User-Agent (ChangeMonitor/1.0), and never log in or bypass bot protection. Emails and phone numbers are redacted before storing. Social networks and profile sites are not monitored. Pages that need JavaScript to render their text are out of scope.
