What does Google Play Scraper do?
Google Play Scraper returns the full Google Play listing of Android apps: name, description, price, rating and the 1–5 star breakdown, installs, version, Android requirement, release and last update dates, category, content rating, screenshots, video and developer contact (email, website, privacy policy) — in 174 countries and 80 languages, with no login, no API key and no developer account.
Give it apps (package names or Google Play links) and it also finds apps for you: every app of a developer, every app a category page lists, and the similar apps and developer's other apps each app's page shows. Each row says where the app was found and its position in that list.
Why use this Google Play scraper?
- 🕵️ Monitor competitors — know when a competitor ships an update, changes its description or price, or gains ratings and installs.
- 🧭 Map a niche — start from one app, add its similar apps, and get a spreadsheet of the whole niche with installs, ratings and update dates.
- 🏢 Every app of a developer — a studio's full Google Play catalogue in one run, by name or developer link.
- 📈 Category research and ASO — the apps Google Play shows in a category, in each section ("Popular apps", "Editors' Choice apps") and position, per country.
- 📇 Lead generation — developer email, website and privacy policy of every app, for agencies, SDK, ad-network and UA sales.
- 🤖 Feed dashboards — JSON, CSV or Excel, or straight into Google Sheets, Looker Studio or Slack through Apify integrations, or via API.
Features
- ✅ Four ways to find apps — app links or package names, developers, categories, and similar or developer apps of each app.
- ✅ Rich Google Play app data — 40+ fields per app, including the 1–5 star breakdown, installs and minimum installs, in-app purchase range and "Contains ads".
- ✅ 174 countries, 80 languages — prices, currencies, ratings, texts and the lists themselves change by country.
- ✅ Every app once — an app found by several sources is scraped and charged once per country, credited to the first.
- ✅ Fair billing — you pay per app listing returned. Developer, category and similar-app pages are free, and an app or list that doesn't exist, or a request Google Play refused, is reported in the run summary and not charged.

The run's SUMMARY record (in the key-value store) lists apps and lists that gave nothing: not found, refused by Google Play, or listed under a developer's name but published by another developer.
How much does it cost to scrape Google Play?
US$0.001 per app listing (US$1 per 1,000 apps), one listing per app per country. Developer, category and similar-app pages are free, and so is every app or list that doesn't exist or that Google Play refused. Set a maximum cost per run in Apify and the Actor stops there.
Limits
- Developers: Google Play's pages list up to 20 apps by developer name, and up to 10 on a developer's own page (
dev?id=). For a developer page that is full, the Actor also reads the developer's list by name and keeps only that developer's apps, so a large developer gives up to 30 apps. Apps beyond what Google Play shows on those pages need its internal API, which its robots.txt closes to crawlers, so they are not read. - Categories: a category page lists 25 to 120 apps in its sections. Dating, Medical, News & Magazines, Libraries & Demo and Casino games show no apps to visitors, so they are not offered.
- Similar apps: up to 50 per app.
- No keyword search and no reviews: Google Play's search pages are closed to crawlers by robots.txt. For reviews use Google Play Reviews Scraper; for App Store and Google Play in one run, App Store & Google Play App Details Scraper.
- Requests are paced at one per second, so 100 apps take about 2 minutes. A page Google Play cuts short with a server error is asked once more. If Google Play refuses requests from the run's IP, the run stops asking, reports the rest as refused (free) and still ends successfully.

Is it legal to scrape Google Play?
This Actor reads only public Google Play pages that anyone can open without an account, and only the pages Google Play's robots.txt allows (app, developer, category and similar-app pages; never search, reviews or the internal API). It never solves or bypasses a challenge. Developer contact fields are what developers publish on their listings for users to reach them; if you process them, you are responsible for doing so under the rules that apply to you (GDPR, CAN-SPAM and similar). Scraping can be against a site's terms of service; check with a lawyer if in doubt.

FAQ
Do I need a Google account or an API key? No.
Why is an app missing in a country? Not every app is published in every country; it is listed in SUMMARY as not found and not charged.
Can I get the apps in a language other than the country's? Yes: pick a language; it applies to every country.
Does it work through the API? Yes. Start it with the Apify API or client libraries and read the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.
