These are the same official values that weather contracts, prediction markets, energy traders and insurers settle on, not a model or a nearby sensor estimate.

Final vs preliminary
NWS issues a preliminary report in the late afternoon (valid as of about 4-5 PM local) and the final report for the day early the next morning. By default the Actor returns final reports only. Turn on Include same-day preliminary reports to get both. If NWS issues a correction, the latest version wins.
Locations
Use NWS CLI location codes, usually the airport code without the leading K. The default list covers 20 major cities: NYC, DCA, MDW, MIA, AUS, LAX, DEN, PHL, ATL, BOS, SEA, DFW, HOU, PHX, LAS, SFO, CLT, RDU, CHS, MSP. Turn on Use all 53 major US cities to also get IAD, BWI, ORD, LGA, IAH, DTW, SAT, OKC, MSY, GSP, CAE, ORF, RIC, SAV, JAX, TPA, MCO, BNA, MEM, SDF, CVG, CLE, PIT, IND, STL, MCI, SLC, PDX, SAN, BUF, ABQ, BHM, TUS. Any of the 600+ other NWS climate stations works too.
Handy codes: NYC is Central Park, DCA is Washington Reagan National, IAD is Dulles, MDW is Chicago Midway, ORD is O'Hare, CLT is Charlotte, RDU is Raleigh-Durham, CHS is Charleston SC.
