Have a list of company names and need their websites? Or a list of domains and need to know who's behind them? Paste either, and get one clean row per company:
- Official website and domain (name → domain)
- Company name and description (domain → company)
- Logo: the official logo file from Wikimedia Commons where one exists (often SVG), plus the logo, Apple touch icon, favicon and social share image from the company's own homepage
- Facts: country, headquarters city, industry, type, founded year, employee count, parent company, stock tickers with their exchanges
- Official social accounts: LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, GitHub, TikTok
- Wikidata ID and Wikipedia link, so you can join the data with other sources
It's built on Wikidata, the free open database behind Wikipedia (public domain, CC0), plus a single visit to the company's homepage. No search-engine scraping, no login, no API key.
Who it's for
- Sales and CRM cleanup: add websites and logos to a list of account names.
- App and dashboard builders: show a logo and a short profile next to every company.
- Market and investment research: country, industry, size, founding year and tickers in one table.
- Data enrichment pipelines: a stable Wikidata ID per company for joining datasets.
Input
| Option | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Companies | – | Names (Stripe) or websites (allbirds.com), one per line |
| Read the company's homepage | on | Adds website logo, icons and social links; off = fastest |
| Language | en | Names, descriptions and labels in this language when available |
Output
{"input": "Stripe","status": "ok","name": "Stripe","domain": "stripe.com","website": "https://stripe.com/","description": "Irish-American payment technology company","logo": "https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:FilePath/Stripe_Logo%2C_revised_2016.svg","logoSource": "wikidata","favicon": "https://images.stripeassets.com/.../favicon.svg","type": ["business", "payment processor"],"industry": ["financial services", "mobile payment industry"],"country": "United States","headquarters": "San Francisco","founded": 2010,"employees": 8000,"parentCompany": "Stripe Global Holdings Inc.","stock": [],"social": {"linkedin": "https://www.linkedin.com/company/stripe","x": "https://x.com/stripe","github": "https://github.com/stripe"},"wikidataId": "Q7624104","wikipedia": "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stripe,_Inc.","matchedBy": "name"}
matchedBy tells you how the company was found: name, domain, or website-only (the domain
isn't in Wikidata, so the row comes from the homepage alone: name, description, logo, icons, socials).
| status | Meaning |
|---|---|
ok | Company found. |
not_found | No company with that name in Wikidata, or the website didn't load. Not charged. |
error | Something went wrong for that row. Not charged. |
Use it from your AI agent (MCP)
Claude, Cursor and other MCP clients can call this tool directly through Apify's MCP server. Add it as an MCP server / connector:
{"mcpServers": {"apify": {"url": "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=swiftkit/company-lookup","headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>" }}}}
Then just ask, for example: "Find the websites and logos of Stripe, Canva and Siemens". Each call is billed like a normal run.
Pricing
You pay per company found. Not-found rows are free. See the Pricing tab.
Limits, honestly
- Name lookups work for companies that are in Wikidata. That covers well-known and many mid-size companies worldwide, not every small business. For small companies, give the website instead: you'll still get the name, logo, icons and social links from the homepage.
- Names can be ambiguous ("Apple", "Notion"). The tool picks the best organization match with an
official website; check
descriptionandwikidataIdwhen it matters. - Facts like employee counts are as current as Wikidata. They're community-maintained, usually sourced from annual reports, and sometimes a year or two old.
- Companies only. People are never looked up or returned.
- Logos are trademarks of their owners; use them the way the owners allow (e.g. to identify the company).
