Find recent Hacker News stories and comments mentioning your keywords, via the official HN Algolia search API. For brand, competitor and lead monitoring.
How it works
- One search request per keyword against the official HN Algolia API (
hn.algolia.com), restricted to the last N days. - Returns matching stories and comments with title, author, points, URL and a link to the HN discussion.
- A summary row per keyword (free) reports how many mentions were returned.
Input
{"keywords": ["Apify", "your brand"], "daysBack": 7, "maxPerKeyword": 5}
keywords: 1-50 keywords or phrases.daysBack: 1-30, default 7.maxPerKeyword: 1-100, default 5 (most recent matches first).
Output
One dataset row per mention: matched keyword, item type (story or comment), title, author, points, external URL, HN discussion link and creation time. Error and summary rows are included free.
Charging
Pay per event: one mention-found event per returned story or comment ($0.005). Summary and error rows are free.
Limitations
- Monitors Hacker News only, via its public Algolia index; indexing lag of a few minutes is normal.
- Substring relevance depends on your keywords; no sentiment or dedup across keywords beyond what the API returns.
