Currency Converter & VAT Rates by Country API
An exchange rate API and currency converter using official ECB euro reference rates (30+ currencies, history back to 1999), HMRC monthly exchange rates for UK customs and VAT, and VAT rates by country, with add/remove VAT. Built for AI agents, invoicing, e-commerce and accounting automations.

Sources
- ECB euro foreign exchange reference rates: published around 16:00 CET on TARGET working days. Weekends and holidays use the latest earlier fixing (
rate_date). Non-EUR pairs are crossed via EUR. ECB reference rates are for information only. - HMRC monthly exchange rates (trade-tariff.service.gov.uk), OGL v3.
- EU VAT: live from the European Commission's TEDB VAT retrieval service, for the date you ask.
regional_standardlists regional rates (e.g. Canary Islands, Madeira/Azores). - Non-EU (UK, Switzerland, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada GST + HST, Japan): cited static table, checked 21 Oct 2026, with each government's source URL in the result. US has no national VAT; state sales tax is not covered.
