Give it a list of US public companies and get back one due-diligence dossier per company, built from SEC EDGAR. Each dossier has:

  • Red and amber flags from the last 12 months of filings: bankruptcy or receivership, restatements (non-reliance on earlier financials), delisting notices, auditor changes, material impairments, late 10-K/10-Q notices, losses and other warnings in the latest financials, and insider selling (or buying), each with the filing it came from.
  • Key financials: annual revenue, net income, margins and growth, plus the latest quarter, from XBRL data.
  • Recent 8-K events with short excerpts.
  • Insider activity: open-market buys and sells, planned (10b5-1) sales, and who bought or sold.
  • Profile and latest reports: industry, headquarters, fiscal year end, and links to the latest 10-K/10-Q.

Each dataset item also carries red_flags and amber_flags counts, so you can sort a watchlist by risk.

Who it is for

  • Investors screening a watchlist or a portfolio for problems.
  • Credit, procurement and partnership teams checking a public company before signing.
  • AI agents that need a one-call answer to "is anything wrong with this company?"

Input

FieldRequiredWhat it does
companiesyesUp to 25 companies per run, given as tickers (AAPL, BRK.B), names (Tesla), SEC CIK numbers (320193) or websites (nvidia.com).

Example:

{ "companies": ["AAPL", "Tesla", "nvidia.com", "GETY"] }

Output

One dataset item per company. Here is a real run (2026-10-21), shortened:

{
"input": "GETY",
"red_flags": 2,
"amber_flags": 2,
"company": "Getty Images Holdings, Inc.",
"ticker": "GETY",
"cik": "1898496",
"summary": "Getty Images Holdings, Inc. (GETY, OTC): services-business services, based in Seattle, WA. FY2025: revenue $981M …",
"flags": [ { "level": "red", "flag": "…", "detail": "…", "url": "https://www.sec.gov/…" } ],
"financials": { "annual": [ … ], "latest_quarter": { … } },
"recent_events": [ … ],
"insiders": { … },
"latest_reports": [ … ]
}

If a company can't be found, it gets an item with an error field, and you are not charged for it.

Pricing

$0.02 per company dossier (pay per event). Companies that aren't found cost nothing, Apify platform usage is included, and Apify adds its standard run-start fee of $0.00005. A 10-company watchlist costs $0.20.

Limitations (please read)

  • Coverage: US SEC registrants only. Private companies and foreign companies that don't file with the SEC aren't covered.
  • What a flag is: flags are rule-based readings of filings (8-K items, filing deadlines, XBRL facts, Form 4s). They point you to documents worth reading; they are not ratings or investment advice.
  • Data gaps: financials depend on the XBRL data a company filed. Small or new filers may have gaps, which the dossier lists under missing.
  • Website lookups: a website resolves to the company that owns it when public records connect the two. Otherwise the name in the domain is tried.

Use it from an AI agent (MCP)

This Actor runs with Apify's default limited permissions, so it is available through Apify's MCP server. Add it to Claude, Cursor or any MCP client with:

https://mcp.apify.com?tools=<publisher>/company-red-flag-dossier

The agent then calls it with input like {"companies": ["AAPL", "TSLA"]}. Results land in the run's dataset; the MCP server's get-dataset-items tool reads them.

Data source

SEC EDGAR (filings, XBRL company facts, Form 4), which is public-domain US government data. Requests identify this service to SEC and stay within its fair-access rate limit.
