All five are private limited companies incorporated on 30 October 2026, the day of the run. They are the five highest company numbers that day, because results are ordered by incorporation date (newest first) and then by company number. Two are holding companies and one is a property company. To skip those, use Exclude SIC codes (64, 68, 70100); to target a niche, set SIC codes (e.g. 62 for IT) or postcode areas.

Tips

• Broad SIC prefixes are free to use. 62 costs no more requests than 62012, because filtering happens after one search per day (except on days over the 5,000-row cap; see Large backfills).
• Skip shell companies with Exclude SIC codes 70100 (holding companies) or 68 (real estate), and keep Exclude dormant on.
• Daily feed: save your input as a Task, turn on delta mode and schedule it every morning with lastNDays 3. Weekend incorporations are picked up on Monday.
• Large backfills: Companies House returns at most 5,000 rows per search. The Actor searches one day at a time, and splits any day over the cap by SIC code when you filter by SIC. Capped days are listed in RUN_SUMMARY.cappedDays.
• Speed: without extras, 100 companies take seconds. With officers, allow about 1 second per company, or about 1.5 seconds with profile details as well.

FAQ

Is Companies House data free to reuse?

Yes. Companies House places no restrictions on how information on the public register is used, and its own material is Crown copyright under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Every row carries the attribution "Source: Companies House … Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0." Third-party copyright in filed documents (e.g. PDFs) stays with its owners. This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by Companies House.

Which officer data is collected?

Only when you switch on Add officers, and only the minimum: name, role, appointment date and resignation date. Dates of birth, nationality, occupation and correspondence addresses are never collected, and persons with significant control (PSC) are not requested. By default only current officers are returned.

Can I use director names for marketing? (UK GDPR and PECR)

Officer names are personal data. Under UK GDPR you need a lawful basis, usually a documented legitimate-interest assessment, and you must tell people where you got their data and let them opt out. PECR restricts unsolicited marketing emails and texts to individuals and sole traders. Note too that some small companies are named after their owner, and some registered offices are home addresses. If unsure, consult a lawyer.

Do I need a Companies House API key?

No. Without a key the Actor reads the public Companies House website. With a free key (from developer.company-information.service.gov.uk) it uses the official REST API, which adds hasCharges, hasInsolvencyHistory and filing categories. Either way it stays under Companies House's limit of 600 requests per 5 minutes.

How fresh is the data?

It's live: each run queries Companies House at that moment, and companies usually appear on the register the day they are incorporated.

Why did I get 0 results?

The filters may be too narrow (one exact SIC code and a small postcode area in a 1-day window), or delta mode has already delivered everything. Try a SIC prefix, more days or a different delta store name.
