Only pay for new data.
Don't pay for the same leads over and over. Each run delivers only the funded companies you haven't seen, with the CEO's name already on the row. You're never charged twice for the same filing.
Most funding lists give you the whole list again on every pull. You pay again for rows you already have, then spend an hour removing duplicates before anyone can act. This Actor remembers every filing it has delivered to you. In our tests, a repeat run skipped 100% of filings already delivered and charged nothing for them. You spend less, your list stays clean, and you have one less thing to manage.
A decision is only as good as the information behind it. At $0.03 a lead, the data costs pennies next to the value of one deal you win, or one you miss because you heard about the raise too late.
What it does
Every US company that sells shares in a private round has to file a Form D with the SEC, usually within 15 days of the first sale. Many of these rounds never show up in TechCrunch, Crunchbase or a funding newsletter. This Actor reads those filings straight from SEC EDGAR. It removes funds, SPVs and real-estate syndications and returns one clean lead per raise: company, amount raised, named executives, phone, HQ, website and a one-line description.
SEC-sourced · Named executives · Only new since last run · No API key · $0.03 per lead
Why this beats news-based funding feeds
| This Actor (SEC Form D) | News-based funding trackers | |
|---|---|---|
| Quiet raises with no press coverage | ✅ Every Form D filer | ❌ Only what gets reported |
| Named CEO, founders and directors | ✅ From the filing itself, with titles | ❌ Usually no people at all |
| Company phone and HQ address | ✅ As filed with the SEC | Rarely |
| Amount actually sold so far, investor count | ✅ Exact figures | Announced headline only |
| Source you can show a client or compliance team | ✅ Link to the SEC filing on every row | A news article |
| Price per lead | $0.03 | Often $0.06–$0.10 |
Who it's built for
Outbound agencies, SDR teams and GTM engineers who sell to startups and need a steady supply of companies that just got budget, ready to drop into Clay, HubSpot, Salesforce, n8n or a sequencer. Flat ceoName, ceoTitle, phone, website and executivesText columns map straight into CRM fields, so you don't have to clean nested JSON.
Service providers to newly funded companies. Fractional CFOs, accountants, startup lawyers, commercial bankers, insurance brokers (D&O, cyber), recruiters and office/HR vendors all win clients in the weeks after a raise. One closed client usually pays for years of leads.
AI agents and automations. The output is fully structured and priced per lead, so it can be called from Apify's MCP server or API without a human in the loop.
What you get on every lead
- Company: legal name, SEC CIK, entity type, state of incorporation, year incorporated, HQ street/city/state/zip, phone, SEC industry group, SIC code (when filed), revenue range (when disclosed).
- The raise: amount sold so far, total offering size (or "indefinite"), amount remaining, number of investors, minimum investment, date of first sale, security types (equity, debt, options…), Reg D exemption (506(b), 506(c)…), sales commissions and finder's fees.
- People: CEO/lead executive (
ceoName, ceoTitle), every named executive, director and promoter with their title, city and state, a ready-made LinkedIn people-search link for each, and the filing signer. Street addresses of individuals are deliberately not included. - Signals:
isFirstTimeFiler(the company's first ever Form D, a strong "new startup" signal),priorFormDCount, incorporatedWithinFiveYears,isLikelySPVOrFundwith reasons, and for amendmentsamountSoldDelta(new money since the previous filing). - Website: taken from SEC records when the company filed one, otherwise a verified domain match.
websiteSourceandwebsiteConfidencetell you which, andwebsiteDescriptiongives the homepage summary. - Proof: filing date, form type, accession number, a direct link to the SEC filing, and the company's EDGAR page.

How to use it
- Click Try for free and leave the defaults to get recently funded companies from the last 7 days.
- Narrow it down: states (
CA,NY,TX…), industry (Technology,Biotechnology,Health Care…), amount raised, revenue range, company-name keyword, or SEC full-text search (for example"artificial intelligence"). - Want true startups only? Turn on Only first-time filers and/or Only incorporated in last 5 years. Funds, SPVs and real-estate offerings are excluded by default.
- Export to CSV, Excel or JSON, or connect an integration (below).
Backfill: set dateFrom / dateTo to pull any period since 2001, for example last quarter's California tech raises over $1M.
Run it on a schedule (the best way to use it)
Save your filters as a Task, add an Apify Schedule (daily at 7am, or hourly), and keep Only new since last run switched on. Each run returns only filings that monitor hasn't delivered before, so you pay once per company per raise, and a run that finds nothing new costs next to nothing.
- Use a different Monitor ID for each saved search (for example
ca-fintechandny-biotech) so they keep separate memories. - Reset monitor replays the whole window.
- If a run stops early (because of Max leads or your spending limit), it saves
NEXT_CURSORin the run's key-value store. Paste it into Resume cursor to continue exactly where it stopped.
Send leads where you work: Apify integrations push every run to Google Sheets, Slack, HubSpot, Make, Zapier, n8n, a webhook, or your warehouse. You can also call it from Clay or any HTTP tool through the Apify API.
What it costs
You pay $0.03 per lead delivered, plus Apify's tiny run-start fee. There's no subscription, and filings that are filtered out or already delivered are never charged.
| Leads | Cost |
|---|---|
| 10 | $0.30 |
| 100 | $3.00 |
| 1,000 | $30.00 |
| 5,000 | $150.00 |
Set Max leads or a run spending limit, and a run can never cost more than you intended. For scale: roughly 1,500 original Form Ds were filed in the 30 days to Oct 13, 2026, and in our test runs about 40–50% were left after funds, SPVs and real estate were removed. That works out to a few hundred operating-company leads a week before your own filters.
What this Actor doesn't cover (honest limits)
- US offerings only. Form D is a US filing. Non-US companies appear only if they raise from US investors under Reg D.
- No round stage or investor names. Form D doesn't say "Seed" or "Series A", and it doesn't list who invested. If you need named investors, use a news-based source.
- No email addresses. You get names, titles, the company phone, website and LinkedIn search links. Pair it with your email-finding tool of choice.
- Not every startup files. Some raises (for example certain SAFEs or late filers) never produce a Form D or appear weeks later.
- Websites are best effort. Many tiny issuers don't list a site. We return none rather than guess wrong.
- Funds/SPV detection is heuristic. It catches the large majority. Check
spvReasonsif you need to audit it. - Timing: filings are due within 15 days of the first sale, so "recent" means recently filed, not necessarily announced today.
FAQ
Is this legal to use? Yes. Form D filings are public records published by the SEC. The Actor follows SEC's fair-access rules (declared User-Agent, under 10 requests/second). As with any B2B data, follow anti-spam and privacy laws in your outreach (CAN-SPAM, GDPR where relevant).
How fresh is it? Filings are searchable on EDGAR within hours of acceptance. Schedule hourly if speed matters.
How is this different from Crunchbase or PitchBook? Those are broad research databases sold by the seat, often for thousands per year. This is a pay-as-you-go lead feed built from primary SEC filings, with the people already attached.
Why do I see the same company twice? A company can file separate Form Ds for separate offerings, or amendments (if you include D/A). Each row is one filing. Use accessionNumber to dedupe filings and cik to dedupe companies.
What does "first-time filer" mean? The company had no earlier Form D on record when this one was filed, which usually means its first priced or SAFE round.
Can I get only big raises? Set Minimum amount raised. Filings that didn't report an amount are kept unless you switch off Keep undisclosed amounts.
Do I need an SEC API key? No.
