☁️ Azure Retail Pricing Scraper

Pull Microsoft's published Azure list prices as flat rows: service, product, SKU, meter, region, unit price and currency. No Azure account, no API key, no login. Filter with OData or take the whole list.

Microsoft publishes the retail price of every Azure service through a public pricing API, but the pricing pages are built for one lookup at a time and the API answers in paged JSON with no export. This Actor reads it for you, applies the filter you give it, and writes each price record as one row you can open in a spreadsheet next to a seller's hosting invoices.

Who uses itWhat they use the price list for
💼 Buyers of software and MSP businessesChecking the cloud cost line in the P&L against what those services actually list for
📉 Diligence analystsModelling the hosting bill after a migration, a region change, or the loss of a seller's discount
🧾 FinOps and procurement teamsBenchmarking a commitment or a reseller quote against Microsoft's own retail price
🏗 Engineers sizing an estateCosting a proposed architecture before anything is deployed

📋 What it does

💡 Why it matters: in a software deal, gross margin turns on the cloud bill. The seller's invoices show what they paid under their agreement. This shows what the same meters list for, which is the number that survives a change of ownership.

  • 🔎 Reads the public Azure retail price list. No Azure subscription and no key, so the price list is available before a seller grants access to anything.
  • 🎯 OData filtering. Narrow to one service, one region or one SKU, for example serviceName eq 'Virtual Machines' or armRegionName eq 'eastus'.
  • 🌍 Every region, 21 currencies. Prices come back in the ISO currency you select, from USD and EUR to INR and BRL.
  • 🧩 SKU-level detail. Service family, product, SKU and meter, so a row matches a line on an invoice rather than a marketing tier.
  • 📦 One flat row per price record, the same 16 fields every run, so several filtered runs append into one dataset.
  • 💾 Exports to CSV, Excel, JSON or XML, from the run page or the API.

📊 Output

Every price record is one flat row with 16 fields.

Note that the same meter appears once per price type. The Consumption row and the DevTestConsumption row above are the same SKU at two different rates, so filter on type before you sum anything.

✨ Why choose this Actor

What you get
Microsoft's own numbersPrices come from the public Azure retail price list, not from a calculator or a third-party summary.
No credentialsNo Azure subscription, no key, nothing to ask a seller for.
Filter or take everythingOne OData expression narrows the pull to a service, a region or a SKU. Leave it blank for the full list.
The same 16 fields every runAppend a dozen filtered runs into one sheet without reconciling columns.
You pay per rowNo subscription. A filter that matches nothing costs nothing.

🚀 How to use it

  1. Create a free Apify account. New accounts start with $5 of credit.
  2. Open the Actor and select Try for free.
  3. Leave filter blank for everything, or write an OData expression to narrow it.
  4. Pick a currencyCode and set maxItems to cap the run.
  5. Select Start, then export from the Dataset tab as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML.

A first run:

{
"maxItems": 10,
"currencyCode": "USD"
}

One service in one region, priced in euros:

{
"maxItems": 2000,
"filter": "serviceName eq 'Virtual Machines' and armRegionName eq 'westeurope'",
"currencyCode": "EUR"
}

⚙️ Input

Free plan runs return up to 10 rows as a preview. Any paid Apify plan lifts that to 1,000,000 per run.

🔌 Integrate with any app

The dataset is available through the Apify API as soon as the run finishes. Use run-sync-get-dataset-items for a one-shot call, webhooks to trigger what happens next, or the Make, Zapier, Airbyte and LangChain integrations listed on the Actor page. Schedule a weekly run to keep a price history you can diff.

🤖 Use with an AI agent

Give an agent live access to the Azure price list over the Model Context Protocol:

$claude mcp add --transport http apify "https://mcp.apify.com?tools=acquistion-automation/azure-retail-pricing-scraper"

Then ask it in plain language what a SKU costs in a given region and have it read the result back.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Do I need an Azure account or a key? No. The retail price list is public. You only need an Apify account to run the Actor.

Why does the same SKU appear more than once? Microsoft prices a meter separately by type. Consumption and DevTestConsumption are the same SKU at different rates, and reservation terms add further rows. Filter on type before summing.

What is the difference between retailPrice and unitPrice? Both come from the price list. For most meters they are identical, as in the rows above. They differ where a meter's own unit terms price differently from the headline retail rate, so both are kept rather than merged.

Can I get the entire price list in one run? Yes. Leave filter blank and raise maxItems. Paid plans allow up to 1,000,000 rows per run.

Why did my filter return nothing? OData wants single quotes around values and exact field names, for example serviceName eq 'Virtual Machines'. A typo in the field name returns an empty result rather than an error.

Are these the prices a company actually pays? No. These are published retail prices. An enterprise agreement, a reservation or a partner discount sits below them, which is why the list price is the right benchmark for what a bill would look like without the seller's arrangement.

We build automation for people buying businesses. The repetitive part of an acquisition search, checking listings, pulling public records, tracking owners and assets, is work a machine should do, so the buyer's time goes into judging deals instead of collecting them.
