💬 WeChat Sogou Search Scraper

Search WeChat Official Account content through Sogou and get each result as a flat row: title, publishing account, date, summary, thumbnail and a link. No API key, no registration, no login.

WeChat has no public search and no public API. Sogou's WeChat channel is the one open window into Official Account content, and it answers ten results a page behind a token that changes. If you need to know what a Chinese company, brand or competitor is publishing, that channel is where you look, and there is nothing on the page to export. This Actor runs the search and writes each result as a row you can open in a spreadsheet.

💡 Why it matters: WeChat is where Chinese companies publish. This is the only open way to ask it a question and keep the answer.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Does url open the article directly? It is Sogou's own redirect link, and it carries a session token in the query string. Following it reaches the article, but the token is tied to the search session, so treat the link as short lived. Save the row when you collect it rather than assuming the link will work weeks later.

Does this return the full article text? No. It returns what the search results page carries: title, account name, date, the summary snippet Sogou shows, the thumbnail, the result id and the link.

Can I search in English? Yes, and the examples above do. Results will skew toward accounts that publish in English or use the English term inside Chinese text. Searching the Chinese term returns far more.

What does the accounts search mode return? It switches the search from articles to Official Accounts. The field list above was taken from an articles run, so check a small accounts run before building on its column names.

Why is imageUrl missing https:? Sogou serves thumbnails protocol relative, starting with //. Prepend https: if your tool needs an absolute URL.

What can I export? CSV, Excel, JSON and XML from the run page, or JSON straight from the API.
