US Grants Monitor

Track US federal grant opportunities through the official grants.gov opportunity search API — keyless, no registration, no browser, no HTML scraping.

What it collects per opportunity

Opportunity number, title, awarding agency, open and close dates, days remaining until the deadline, posted/forecasted status, Assistance Listing (CFDA) numbers, and a link to the official detail page on grants.gov.

Inputs

  • Keyword (default empty = all): search opportunity titles and descriptions, e.g. broadband, AI research, rural health.
  • Agency codes (optional): filter to agencies, e.g. HHS-NIH11 (NIH), NSF, DOE. Empty = all agencies.
  • Assistance Listing numbers (optional): e.g. 93.213, 47.041. Empty = all.
  • Include forecasted opportunities (default on): also list not-yet-open opportunities for early planning.
  • Max days to close (default 0 = no filter): deadline-alert mode — only keep opportunities closing within N days.
  • Max results (default 100, max 1000): soonest deadline first; past-deadline opportunities are dropped.

If grants.gov is unreachable, the run records one error row instead of crashing.

Use cases

Grant deadline alerts, new-opportunity detection for grant writers and nonprofits, agency funding landscape tracking, pipeline building for consultants. Re-run on a schedule to catch new postings and approaching deadlines.
