What does Brand Mentions Monitor do?

It's social listening without the monthly subscription. Give it your brand, product, competitor or any keyword, and it finds new mentions across 5 sources in one run:

SourceWhat you get
Redditposts from every subreddit, with the subreddit and author
Google Newsnews articles from thousands of outlets, any country and language
YouTubevideos that mention you, with channel and views
Hacker Newsstories and comments, with points
Blueskyposts with likes, reposts and replies

Every mention gets a sentiment label (positive, neutral, negative), and every run creates a visual HTML report with sentiment, sources, top communities and the latest mentions.

  • 🔔 Only new mentions: schedule it daily and get only what's new, so you never pay twice for the same mention
  • 🎯 Exact match: write your brand with a capital letter (Notion) to match only the brand, not the everyday word ("the notion that…")
  • 🚫 Exclude words to remove noise
  • 💲 $1.50 per 1,000 mentions. Tools like Brand24 or Mention start around $79 per month.

Use cases

  • Brand monitoring for startups, SaaS, e-commerce and local businesses
  • Competitor tracking: what people say about your competitors, and where
  • PR and crisis alerts: catch negative mentions early (connect to Slack or email)
  • Product feedback and ideas from real users on Reddit and Hacker News
  • Lead discovery: people asking for alternatives to a competitor
  • Founders and creators: track your name and your launches

Input

{
"keywords": ["Notion", "Supabase"],
"sources": ["reddit", "hackernews", "bluesky", "news", "youtube"],
"lookbackDays": 7,
"onlyNewMentions": true,
"exactMatch": true,
"excludeKeywords": ["hiring"],
"maxMentionsPerSource": 100,
"newsLanguage": "en",
"newsCountry": "US"
}

Daily alerts in 1 minute: open the Schedules tab, choose "every day", and set Look back to 2 days with Only new mentions on. Then add a Slack, email or webhook integration in the Integrations tab to receive each run's results.

Output

One row per mention:

{
"keyword": "Supabase",
"source": "Reddit",
"type": "post",
"title": "Moving from Firebase to Supabase, worth it?",
"text": "We are a small team and Firebase costs are getting high...",
"url": "https://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/comments/...",
"author": "u/someone",
"community": "r/webdev",
"publishedAt": "2026-10-18T00:29:00+00:00",
"engagement": {},
"sentiment": "neutral",
"sentimentScore": 0.05,
"id": "Reddit:t3_1x8pm1q"
}

Each run also saves to its key-value store:

  • REPORT: an HTML dashboard you can open in the browser or share
  • SUMMARY: JSON totals by source, sentiment and top communities

Pricing

$0.0015 per mention ($1.50 per 1,000). Platform and proxy costs are included. With Only new mentions on, scheduled runs only charge for mentions you haven't seen yet.

Notes

  • Sentiment is a fast word-based score. It's good for spotting trends and clearly negative posts, not for sarcasm.
  • YouTube dates are estimated from YouTube's "x days ago".
  • X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn need a login, so they are not included.
