Search by service and location, or supply exact Rover search URLs, and receive sitter names, profile links, nightly prices, ratings, review counts, repeat clients, badges, photos, response signals and years of experience.

How It Works

Provide one or more Rover search URLs in searchUrls, or leave the list empty and let the Actor build a search from serviceType and location. Supported services are overnight boarding, overnight traveling, dog walking, drop-in visits, doggy day care and dog training. maxItems is the profile budget, and the free preview saves at most 10 sitter profiles.

Search pages are parsed from the embedded __NEXT_DATA__ payload first, with DOM fallbacks when the payload changes. The card handler extracts the display name, profile URL and ID, selected service, nightly price, rating, review count, repeat clients, distance, photo and public badges such as Star Sitter or background checked.

With fetchProfiles enabled, each sitter page is opened for biography, response rate, response time, years of experience, services and additional photos. Rover does not publish every section for every sitter, and page layouts change; empty strings and null values are preserved instead of being guessed. The selected service also determines what pricePerNight means, so compare prices only within the same service type.

With fetchReviews enabled, individual reviews are written to a separate reviews dataset. Each review row includes the sitter name, rating, review text, reviewer name, date and sitter profile URL. maxReviewsPerSitter caps the review volume, which matters because popular sitters can have hundreds of public reviews.

Proxy use is optional. The Actor reads public pages without logging in, does not contact sitters and does not book services. Coverage can vary by city and service type, and a search page may expose fewer complete profiles than the headline result count; compare the input location with the saved profile count before scaling.

A small run with two or three sitters confirms the current profile layout and the fields that are actually public. Set fetchReviews only when you need review text, because review events are charged separately. The free preview stops at 10 sitter profiles even when maxItems is higher.

A sitter may have no rating, no city text or no biography in the parsed payload. Those values remain null or empty rather than being inferred. pricePerNight is tied to the selected service, and reviews are not embedded in the profile row; join them on the sitter profile URL or profile ID.

Sitter profiles cost $2.00 per 1,000 on FREE, $1.95 on BRONZE, $1.90 on SILVER and $1.85 on GOLD and higher. Reviews cost $3.50 per 1,000 on FREE and fall to $3.20 per 1,000 on GOLD+. The start fee is negligible. Review events are charged only when fetchReviews is enabled and rows are saved. The free preview is capped at 10 sitter profiles; review volume is still governed by maxReviewsPerSitter.

This is a real test record shortened for readability. rating is null and the location fields are empty because the search payload did not expose them for this sitter; that is missing public data, not a failed extraction.
