videoViewCount is not accurate / true

I am oppening a new ticket as I believe the viewViewCounts for all latestPosts / latestIgtvPosts is inaccurate. My previous ticket was closed but having verified this issue on my own account I believe the view count data is completely wrong and misleading.

Having requested the scraper on my own account and compared the results with the insights in my instagram account, there is no metric on videos remotely close to the number given for videoViewCount here. E.g. Reel insights - accounts reach, plays, initial plays, or replays.

Please can this be instigated/fixed/removed as it is false information.

I am happy to provided screenshots of my account insights to the apify team but not publicly here.

Essentially the videoViewCount does not seem to be accurate to any insight video/play count in my own account. What is this number? Could it be possible to add videoPlayCount as an optional parameter for those of us that need accurate play counts?

Bumping this issue as its a major attribute with incorrect data

Hey guys, I agree it is confusing. This is the data though that are returned by Instagram when we request profile details. I was going through the Meta for developers docs extensively and I am not 100% sure what the view number on profile API point is. My theories are either - number for the last day/week/28 days or number of unique views (as with plays they state it is number of times the video was played which I understand in a way that if I watch the video ten times, I will be there 10 times, though I will only be once in views). But these are only theories. We could actually test it on some account if we had access to their side (to see the stats the publisher have on their account). In the meantime, if you need the playcounts, aka what is actually publicly displayed in the app, scrape posts and not profiles. The input is completely the same (you use the profile url) but instead of Scrape details use the option Scrape posts. Happy to discuss further suggestions!

videoViewCount is definitely inaccurate, it varies wildly vs what is shown to creators on Instagram.

I'm not even sure how Apify claims to have this data, as it's not shown in any public interface. The "plays" seems accurate, when using the Reels scraper, but the Views are wildly off. They don't correspond to any number provided by Instagram, either in the public interface or the private creator interface.
