Pythia · SEC EDGAR — Full-Text Filing Search
Search every SEC filing (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, S-1, etc.) by keyword. SEC filings are the gold-standard source for material company events — M&A, exec changes, restatements, cyber incidents, capital raises, lawsuits.
Quick example
Input:
{ "queries": ["Anthropic", "Stripe"], "window_days": 30 }
Output: one signal per matched filing — company name, CIK, filing type (8-K / 10-K / etc.), filing date, accession number, direct EDGAR link, snippet showing the query match in context.
Use cases
- Material event monitoring — 8-K filings disclose M&A, exec departures, cyber incidents
- Competitive intel — track every public-company competitor's quarterly disclosures
- Lawyer / analyst workflows — automate filing-watch instead of paying $400/mo for Bloomberg Law
- Pythia weekly dossier — material-event signals for the weekly company brief
Inputs
| Field | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
queries | array[string] | yes | Search terms (company names, keywords, technologies, lawsuit terms). |
window_days | integer | no | Look back this many days. Default 30. Max 730 (2 years). |
Pricing
$0.02 per actor start + $0.05 per filing returned. Free underlying SEC EDGAR API; pricing reflects index-and-deliver cost.
Limitations
- US public filings only. International companies file with their home regulator.
- Indexed text only (not embedded images / scans).
- SEC has its own rate limits; this actor respects them — expect ~10s for 5 queries.
