🏠 Rightmove Scraper — UK Property Listings, Agents and Prices
Scrape Rightmove, the UK's largest property portal: homes for sale, to rent, new homes and commercial property. Every listing comes back as a clean row with price, bedrooms, bathrooms, address, coordinates, the estate agent's name and phone number, photos, key features and listing dates. Switch on details to add the full description, postcode, tenure, lease length, council tax band, service charge, EPC, floorplans and nearest stations, add the Land Registry price history of each address, or turn on monitoring mode so a scheduled run saves only listings that are new since the last run. No browser and no login: a default run finishes in a few seconds. Export to JSON/CSV/Excel, run on a schedule, call via API, or connect to Make, Zapier or n8n.
What a run costs: you pay per listing saved, plus one event per listing whose details you asked for. A search that finds nothing, a place Rightmove does not know, a link that is not a Rightmove search and, in monitoring mode, a listing you already got cost nothing.
🔎 What is the Rightmove Scraper?
Give it UK places ("London", "Camden", "NW8", "SW1A 1AA") or paste Rightmove search links with your filters, and it reads Rightmove's own search results. One Rightmove list stops after 1,008 listings; when you ask for more, the run splits the search into price bands and reads band after band, so a whole city is reachable (all 6,851 Manchester homes for sale in 45 seconds in our test).
What data does it extract?
- Listing: id, link, address, coordinates, property type, bedrooms, bathrooms, size, tenure, key features, summary, all photos
- Price: amount, currency, display text ("Offers in Region of £140,050"), frequency for rentals (weekly or monthly) and the second display price ("£1,500 pw")
- Agent: trading name, branch, branch id, phone number, agent page, logo
- Dates: first listed, last update and its reason (new, price reduced), "Added on" / "Reduced on" text, availability date for rentals
- Flags: featured, premium, new home development, auction, commercial, student
- With
includePriceHistory:priceHistory, the past sales of the address from HM Land Registry as Rightmove shows them: year, price and percent change from the sale before - With
includeDetails: full description, postcode, council tax band, annual service charge and ground rent, lease years remaining, deposit, furnishing, let type and minimum term for rentals, floorplans, EPC graphs, brochures, virtual tours, nearest stations with distance, agent company and postal address
⬇️ Input
| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
location | array | UK places: towns, boroughs, areas, outcodes (NW8), postcodes, or a location id such as REGION^87490. |
searchUrls | array | Rightmove search links with your filters, or place pages such as https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/London.html. |
channel | string | For location searches: BUY, RENT, NEW_HOME, COMMERCIAL_BUY, COMMERCIAL_RENT. Default BUY. |
maxResults | integer | Most listings per place or link. Default 50, up to 50,000. |
maxProperties | integer | Same as maxResults (the name other Rightmove Actors use); wins when set. |
includeDetails | boolean | Also read each listing's page for the detail fields. Default false. |
includePriceHistory | boolean | Add priceHistory (Land Registry sales of the address). Turns on details. Default false. |
monitoringMode | boolean | Save only listings this watch has not delivered before. Default false. |
Example input
{"location": ["Manchester", "NW8"],"searchUrls": ["https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/find.html?locationIdentifier=REGION%5E93941&minBedrooms=2&maxPrice=3000"],"channel": "BUY","maxResults": 500,"includeDetails": false}
🔔 Monitoring new listings (scheduled runs)
Save a task with monitoringMode on and give it a schedule (Console → Schedules, for example every morning at 7:00). The first run saves the current listings up to your limit. Every later run saves only listings that appeared since, so the dataset of each run is your "new on Rightmove" alert, ready for an email, Slack or Sheets integration.
{"searchUrls": ["https://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-to-rent/find.html?locationIdentifier=REGION%5E87490&minBedrooms=2&maxPrice=2500&sortType=6"],"maxResults": 200,"monitoringMode": true}
- The memory lives in your account's key-value store
rightmove-scraper-monitor, one record per saved task (runs without a task share one record per set of locations, links and channel). Change the search, and it is a new watch. - A listing that was on Rightmove before the watch's first run is never reported as new, also when the first run did not reach it.
- Sort by newest (
sortType=6, the default for place searches): the run then stops reading as soon as it reaches listings older than the watch. With another sort it stops after reading 1,000 known listings (or 10 per wanted result). - Known listings are skipped before they are saved and are not charged.

💡 Use cases
- 🎯 Estate-agent lead generation: every listing names its agent and branch phone number.
- 🏠 Market research: asking prices by area, property type and size across a whole city.
- 📈 New-listing alerts: a scheduled task in monitoring mode delivers only what is new;
listing_update_reasonshows reductions. - 💷 Valuation context:
priceHistoryputs the asking price next to what the address last sold for. - 🤖 Automation: send new listings to Slack, Sheets or a CRM through Make, Zapier or n8n.
🤖 For AI agents
{"location": ["Bristol"], "channel": "RENT", "maxResults": 20}
No credential is needed. location and searchUrls are arrays; every row has the same fields.
❓ FAQ
Do I need a login, cookies or an API key? No.
Can I scrape rentals, new homes and commercial property? Yes. Set channel, or paste a link from that part of Rightmove.
Can I keep my filters? Yes. Paste the search link from your browser; bedrooms, price, radius, property type and "added in the last N days" are all kept.
How many listings can I get? Rightmove's own list stops at 1,008. Above that the run reads the search in price bands (the status message says so), lowest prices first, until it has maxResults or the search is exhausted. In band mode the rows come in price order, not in the order of your sort.
Why can a row repeat a listing I saw in another search? It cannot within one run: a listing is saved once per run, even when two of your searches contain it.
How do I get only new listings every day? Turn on monitoringMode in a saved task and schedule it; see "Monitoring new listings" above.
Where does the price history come from? From the sale history Rightmove shows on each property page, which is HM Land Registry price-paid data. It covers England and Wales; Scottish and Northern Irish addresses and new builds usually have none. It is the address's past sales, not the asking-price changes of the listing.
What does the featured flag mean? Rightmove puts one paid "featured" listing on every result page. It is a real listing in your area and is saved once, marked featured: true.
Where do the photos come from? image is Rightmove's card picture; images are the full-size photos.
What happens when a run is stopped or moved to another server? It continues where it stopped and does not save or charge a listing twice.
Is it legal? It collects listing data that Rightmove shows to any visitor. Agent phone numbers are business contacts published by the agents; follow UK GDPR and PECR when you contact them, and respect Rightmove's terms for how you use the data.
⚠️ Limits
- This Actor reads current listings. Past sales come only per listing through
includePriceHistory, at year precision; there is no search of sold properties. - Details (and price history, which needs them) add about 100 KB per listing and make a run slower; leave them off when the list fields are enough.
- A price band that holds more than 1,008 listings at a single price cannot be split further; the run then saves the first 1,008 and says so in its status message.
