Extract German job postings (plus EURES-partner listings, for example from Austria) from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit's own public Jobsuche API: title, company, location, salary when disclosed, contract type and full description. No login, no browser, no API key to request.

What you can do with it

  • Search Germany's official job database directly. The same public API the arbeitsagentur.de website itself calls, with a real page/size pagination over more than a million active postings.
  • Filter by job title and place of work. was and wo map straight onto the site's own search fields.
  • Paste a search URL. Copy a results URL straight from arbeitsagentur.de (.../jobsuche/suche?was=...&wo=...) into searchUrls and get exactly that search, no need to fill the fields yourself.
  • Track salary disclosure. salaryMin/salaryMax/salaryPeriod carry the employer's own published figures, when they choose to publish them.
  • Feed a job alert or aggregator. Every posting comes with a stable reference number and a public URL for deduplication across runs. id/url/title/companyName/locationLabel/employmentType... follow the same field names as this author's other job-board Actors, so you can plug several sources into one pipeline.

Input

FieldWhat it does
wasFree-text search on the job title or profession, for example Softwareentwickler. Empty means every posting.
woFree-text search on the place of work, for example Berlin. Empty means every location.
searchUrlsOptional. One or more search result URLs copied from arbeitsagentur.de (for example https://www.arbeitsagentur.de/jobsuche/suche?was=Pflegefachkraft&wo=Hamburg). Each URL is its own search, applied before was/wo and combined with them.
maxItemsThe run stops once this many postings are saved (default 50), shared across every search.
includeDescriptionsFetch each posting's own detail record for the full description and salary range, when disclosed (default on; one extra request per posting).

Example input:

{
"was": "Softwareentwickler",
"wo": "Berlin",
"maxItems": 50,

Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.

Why this one

  • The official source, read directly. No scraping of rendered HTML: this Actor calls the same documented JSON API (also catalogued on the community-run bundesAPI/jobsuche-api project) the Bundesagentur's own site uses.
  • Named contacts actually removed. The raw description is sometimes hard-wrapped across lines with a named recruiter's e-mail or phone mid-sentence; this Actor cuts the whole sentence that carries one, not just the matching word, sentence punctuation rather than line breaks.
  • No browser, no proxy, no login. A handful of lightweight JSON requests per run.

Good to know

  • Some results are postings mirrored from an EURES partner board (for example Austria's AMS); their url points at that partner's own page instead of arbeitsagentur.de.
  • Most German postings do not disclose a salary; salaryMin/salaryMax/salaryPeriod stay empty or "KEINE_ANGABEN" when that is the case.
  • A sentence that carries an e-mail address or a German phone number is dropped from the description.
  • The dataset contains job postings only. Recruiter and candidate personal data is never exported.
  • This is an unofficial tool, not affiliated with the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. Check the terms that apply to your use.

FAQ

Does it work without was or wo? Yes. Leave both empty for a productive default run across the newest postings nationwide.

Does it need a browser or a proxy? No. It calls the public Jobsuche JSON API directly.

Why does one posting sometimes point to a different website? A posting published through the EURES partner network (for example from Austria) keeps its own partner URL as the canonical link instead of an arbeitsagentur.de page.

Who uses it

  • Recruiting agencies and HR teams watch which companies hire, for which roles and at which salary, in their market.
  • Job boards and aggregators feed their own site with fresh postings in a stable schema, without maintaining a parser.
  • B2B sales and lead generation: a company that is hiring is a company that is buying. Filter postings by role to spot prospects early.
  • Labour-market research: salaries, skills in demand, remote share and hiring volume over time.

Pricing

Pay per result: $1.20 per 1,000 postings, plus $0.01 per run start with the default 4 GB of memory. For example, 100 postings cost about $0.13. You only pay for the postings you receive, and platform usage is included in that price. Store discounts apply automatically on paid Apify plans: up to 20% off every event on the higher tiers.

Run it from your code

JavaScript:

import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });
const run = await client.actor('bibian/arbeitsagentur-jobs-scraper').call({
was: 'Softwareentwickler',
wo: 'Berlin',
maxItems: 50,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();

Python:

from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("bibian/arbeitsagentur-jobs-scraper").call(run_input={
"was": "Softwareentwickler",
"wo": "Berlin",
"maxItems": 50
})
items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items

Monitor new postings daily and connect your tools

  1. Schedule it. Save a task, set its publication date filter to the shortest window, and schedule it daily with Apify Schedules. Deduplicate on the id field if you keep your own copy. Tick Only new results in the input and each run returns, and charges, only the postings that earlier runs of the same search did not deliver.
  2. Push the results where you work. Add an Apify integration or a webhook to the task: Google Sheets, Slack, Make, Zapier, n8n or your own endpoint, triggered at the end of every run.
  3. Call it from your stack. The API and the JavaScript and Python clients return the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel.
  4. Let an AI agent use it. Through the Apify MCP server, assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can search the Store, read this page and run the actor as a tool.

Prefer a plain REST API?

The same postings are available as a REST API on RapidAPI and Zyla API Hub: one POST call returns the JSON, billing goes through the marketplace and no Apify account is needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for Arbeitsagentur? No. The actor reads publicly visible pages only.

Which formats can I export? JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.

Is it legal to scrape? The actor collects publicly visible postings and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.

Something does not work? Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.

Did this save you time? A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.
