Scrape job postings from StepStone, Germany's leading job board, and get clean structured data: title, company, salary when published, remote policy, location, employment type and full description.
What you can do with it
- Monitor the German job market: new postings by job title and city, with remote-work policy on every record.
- Feed a job alert or an aggregator: run it daily on a title and dedupe by
idto catch only the new postings. - Find companies that are hiring: which employers recruit for a given role right now, in which city.
- Benchmark salaries: published salary ranges by role, where the employer discloses them.
Input
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Keywords | Job title or skill, for example softwareentwickler or pflegefachkraft. Empty rotates through common job titles in major German cities. |
| Location | German city. Only used together with Keywords; empty searches nationwide. |
| Maximum number of postings | The run stops once this many postings are saved. |
| Include full descriptions | Adds the full job description as plain text. |
Output
One record per posting:
{"id": "14446547","url": "https://www.stepstone.de/stellenangebote--Softwareentwickler-in-Automation-Engineer-Underwriting-Hannover-Hannover-Rueck-SE--14446547-inline.html","title": "Softwareentwickler:in / Automation Engineer Underwriting","companyName": "Hannover Rück SE","city": "Hannover","postalCode": "30625","country": "DE","remote": false,"salaryMin": null,"salaryMax": null,"salaryCurrency": null,"salaryPeriod": null,"employmentType": "FULL_TIME","industry": "IT, IT-Softwareentwicklung","datePosted": "2026-10-01T10:03:23.59Z","validThrough": "2026-10-31T10:48:39.527Z","description": "…"}
Export the dataset as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read it through the Apify API.
A real sample, from a default run:
| Title | Company | City | Remote |
|---|---|---|---|
| Softwareentwickler:in / Automation Engineer Underwriting | Hannover Rück SE | Hannover | No |
| Softwareentwickler*in (m/w/d) - Hacking Tools & Automation - hybrid | Antago GmbH | Bensheim | No |
| Softwareentwickler (m/w/d) Oracle | WGV - Württembergische Gemeinde-Versicherung a.G. | Stuttgart | No |
Why this one
- No login, no CV upload. Everything comes from StepStone's public search and posting pages.
- Remote policy flagged on every record, not just buried in the description text.
- Climbs its own anti-bot ladder automatically (plain request, then Apify Proxy, then a browser-grade fingerprint) only when a request is actually blocked, instead of always paying for the most expensive route.
Good to know
- StepStone's own pagination (
?page=) is off-limits to robots; this actor instead rotates through job title and city combinations, each its own first page of results. - Results follow StepStone's own search, so a city search can include a few postings from nearby or related places.
- Salary fields are empty when the employer does not publish a figure (common on this site).
- A line that carries a recruiter's e-mail address is dropped from the description: no personal contact data is collected.
Pricing
Pay per result: $3.00 per 1,000 postings, plus $0.00005 per run start. For example, 100 postings cost about $0.30. You only pay for the postings you receive, and platform usage is included in that price.
Run it from your code
JavaScript:
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';const client = new ApifyClient({ token: process.env.APIFY_TOKEN });const run = await client.actor('bibian/stepstone-jobs-scraper').call({keywords: 'softwareentwickler',location: 'Berlin',maxItems: 50,});const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
Python:
from apify_client import ApifyClientclient = ApifyClient(token="<APIFY_TOKEN>")run = client.actor("bibian/stepstone-jobs-scraper").call(run_input={"keywords": "softwareentwickler","location": "Berlin","maxItems": 50})items = client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).list_items().items
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an account, cookies or a proxy for StepStone? No. The actor reads publicly visible pages only.
How do I get only the new postings every day? Save a task, set its publication date filter to the shortest window, and schedule it daily with Apify Schedules. Deduplicate on the id field if you keep your own copy.
Which formats can I export? JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, HTML table or RSS, from the dataset page or through the API.
Can I connect it to Make, Zapier, n8n or Google Sheets? Yes, through Apify integrations and webhooks.
Is it legal to scrape? The actor collects publicly visible postings and respects the robots.txt rules of the site. How you use the data is your responsibility: check the site's terms and the laws that apply to you, for example the GDPR.
Something does not work? Open an issue in the Issues tab. Every public actor is test-run daily and the broken ones are repaired.
Did this save you time? A short review on the Store page helps other people find the actor, and tells me what to improve next.
