Do I need a Bilibili account, cookies or a proxy?

No. The Actor reads what bilibili.com shows any visitor who is not logged in. If Bilibili answers with a risk-control check, the request is retried on a fresh visitor session and, if needed, through a chain of proxies from the cheapest to an unblocking service — by itself, at no extra charge to you.

Does it work with Chinese keywords?

Yes. Search accepts Chinese, English or any other text: 原神, iphone 17, minecraft. Titles and descriptions come back as published, usually in Chinese.

How many comments can I get?

Bilibili shows a visitor who is not logged in only a few top-level comments of a video in each order. The Actor collects them from every public order (hot, newest, most replied) — usually around 10 distinct comments — puts them first, in the order you picked, and then adds the replies under them, which are fully open, so a popular video still gives hundreds of rows. Turn off Add replies to get only the top-level comments. Danmaku have no such limit.

Is it legal to scrape Bilibili?

The Actor reads only public pages without logging in. User names and comments are personal data under laws like the GDPR and PIPL — have a lawful reason to process them.

Can I get only new rows on a schedule?

Yes. Give Monitoring mode a name and schedule the Actor: every run returns only videos, danmaku or comments not delivered before under that name.

Why transcribe the audio instead of reading Bilibili subtitles?

Bilibili shows its CC and AI subtitles only to logged-in viewers, and most videos have none. Transcripts mode (in Bilibili Scraper and Bilibili Video Scraper) downloads the audio track a visitor can play and turns it into text with Whisper: full text, timed lines (segments: start, end, text) and the detected language. Minutes of audio per video caps how much of a long video is transcribed (from the start; truncated tells you when it stopped early) and therefore the bill.
