Do I need a RedNote account?

No. The Actor works without login, cookies or proxies on your side.

Does it work with English keywords?

Yes, but RedNote is mostly Chinese — Chinese keywords (护肤, 咖啡, 巴厘岛) return far more notes.

Why do some notes have 0 comments and no comment rows?

Comment rows come only from the note links you give. A note with no comments returns an error row (free) saying nothing was found.

Is it legal?

The Actor reads public notes only. Names and comments can be personal data under the PIPL and GDPR — have a lawful reason to process them.
