Turn IETF RFC numbers into plain-English summaries. Built for network engineers and devops who need to track protocol changes without reading 80-page documents.
What it does
- Fetches the full RFC text from rfc-editor.org (free, no key, no scraping fragility).
- Extracts: title, category (Standards Track / Informational / Experimental), abstract, section map, and obsoletes/updates relationships.
- Outputs a one-line summary sentence plus structured fields.
Input
| Field | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
rfc_list | array[integer] | Required. RFC numbers to summarize. Max 50/run. |
Example
{ "rfc_list": [8446, 9110, 7231] }
→ TLS 1.3, HTTP Semantics, HTTP/1.1 — each with its abstract, section list, and what it obsoletes.
Why this actor
Nobody else wraps RFCs as a digest on Apify. Protocol changes (TLS 1.3 obsoleting 5246, HTTP Semantics replacing 7231) are exactly what engineers need tracked — and the source is a stable plain-text endpoint, so it never breaks.
Pricing
Pay per run — $0.05.
